On the way

On the way back to Gusu, Wei WuXian cornered Jiang Cheng and asked

"Jiang Cheng! I wanted to ask you something"

"Then ask! Why are you beating around the bush?" asked Jiang Cheng irritably

"A-Cheng.... always so angry" Laughed Wei Ying

"I wanted to ask that.... that ... you were never found of the Wens and always told me to steer clear of them"

"And you listened" Jiang Cheng taunted sarcastically

Ignoring the taunt Wei WuXian continued

"Why did you agree to help them? I mean between the Lans and the Nies they would have been comfortably settled. Then why did you proposed to having them merged with the Jiangs? And above that you even suggested that when the time comes, Wen Qing along with her family can take shelter in the Lotus Pier? I truly didn't understand it and you know when a mystery is remained unsolved, than your cute little brother can't sleep at night. Please have mercy on this brother of yours and tell me. Do you like Wen Guniang?" Asked Wei Wuxian mischievously while wiggling his eyebrows

"Wei WuXian behave! leave my hand and act your age. What are you, a child?"

"XianXian is 3 and he loves his Shijie's Lotus pork soup" Wei WuXian says in a childish voice and hears his Shijie's gentle laugh beside Jiang Cheng

Ahead of them having heard the conversation Lan ChunAi smiled to herself and then immediately chastise herself. Eavesdropping is prohibited in cloud recesses. Even though she wasn't eavesdropping and merely overheard the conversation by mistake. She increased her pace subtly and joined her brothers.

There was silence for a few minutes when Wei Wuxian again started

"Jiang Cheng, Shidi....... A-Cheng"

"What" spoke Jiang Chang irritably

"You never answered my question"

Jiang Cheng looked around and saw everyone was ahead of them with just his siblings along with him. He sighed and finally answered

"Since The Nie clan is so close to Defan, most of the Wens would like to be reestablished in the Nie clan. The rest will either choose the quiet of the mountains or the noise of the ponds. With the Wens settled, there will be a time when Wen Guniang and her family would be forced to leave Qishan and then she would have only two options left.... Gusu Lan and Yumenga Jiang "

"Hmmm... but I still don't understand your offer"

"The Lans are known for their values. Even if they agree to keep her and her family, which I cannot help but doubt, they will never view her respectably. She is after all going to betray her sect no matter the cause. Hence I offered her a place........

Also I know you care about them "  the last was spoken softly only for Jiang Cheng himself but Wei WuXian heard him and his smile lit up his eyes even more. And then....

"ChengCheng do you really not like Wen Qing? I mean she is so strong and beautiful and I have seen the way you-"

"Wei WuXian" shouted Jiang Cheng and began chasing after him.

"A-Xian, A-Cheng stop running and don't fight"

"Shijie look how brutal our brother has become. He is hitting a 3 year old child" saying this Wei Ying continues to dodge Jiang Cheng's punches while laughs wholeheartedly

'Idiot' Jiang Cheng thinks to himself fondly and continues hitting Wei Ying.

Here is yet another update. This is a short one though. So lately I have been thinking a lot of what ifs in the untamed and the following is some of it.

I have always felt that if Wei Wuxain knew his how much his  family loved him he wouldn't have left the sect. I mean it's Wei WuXian the genius inventor we are talking about, surly he would have found other alternatives to save the Wens instead of leaving Jinag Cheng all alone. Or maybe that the resentment energy wouldn't have been at the same amount of level as it originally was. Also the fact that Madam Yu forced Wei Ying to call Jiang YanLi senior sister(Shijie) as all the other Jiang disciples and not sister(JieJie) as Jiang Cheng hurts 💔
