"She was with who?" I exclaimed as April repeated to me what happened on the trip down. My body is pulsating as the blood is rushing through my veins, as sweat pours from my chest and hits the gym floor. April continues..  So far all I'm hearing is that Aaliyah is still beautiful and successful but the only thing that changed is that she might have a boyfriend. Which just made me punch the punching bag in front of me even harder,

"Crap."

"let me get you a towel, although that wont help clean up your obsession with her."

"Im not obsessed with her, i just dont want her to be with anybody but me. Is that so bad?" I say ducking and hitting the punching bag multiple times growling with each hit.

"..... yes and she wasn't with anybody for the millionth time, She was just talking to a guy on the phone saying they would meet up at church or something."  She says sheepishly, while flinching as i punched the bag harder one more time grunting.

"He stole my girl, and is taking her out in my territory?" I groaned while clinching my fists, with sweat dripping down my face and body.

"Calm down, maleek. She isnt your girl anymore, you need to learn how to get over this already. Its been years! What about you and barbie?" I roll my eyes and take the towel from april's hand.

"What about barbie?" I ask, huffing and puffing, trying to ignore the chemistry we had last Friday at church, even when we got to the garden she got to talk to all the people from my church they treated her like she was my girlfriend.. i can tell that they really love her and want her to be mine... I mean she's gorgeous, forgiving, and has the ability to be kind...

"Maleek?" April exclaims waving her hand in my face to wake me up from my daydream.

"What?" I say while getting ready to punch the bag again before she grabbed my hand and stopped me.

"You and barbie?"

"Ah.. yes, lets just say i may be her ken but she's not my barbie..."

"That was so corny." She grabbed a water bottle and threw it to me.

"I know." My phone rings and when i see who it is i throw my head back in frustration. I waved off april and dried my body off one more time. She went downstairs to reply to the buzzer at reception.

"This is maleek davis."

"Hello mr davis, i am Ace's teacher Mr Harvey and i just wanted to speak to you about Ace and his attendance and results" I sigh deeply as i wait to hear whatever bad news he has to say now.

"Of course, what's been going on Mr Harvey?"

"Well firstly ace's attendance has been extremely poor for a child his age. We have seen a major toll in his mental health since the passing of his mother and we are worrying for him."

"I understand, im trying to take care of that, its never easy when a mother passes away, surely you can understand?" I say. The teacher went on for 30 minutes speaking about how he never pays attention anymore and how he is never happy about classes or activity's anymore... It breaks my heart but its all a process there's nothing else that i can do.

"He has been acting extremely rude to one of the female teachers." I immediately stopped what i was doing and everything came to a hault. I can manage him being an ass to me but to a woman? Thats not how he was raised.
