As soon as I finished cooking dinner, I heard the door open followed by Din's voice. "Honey, I'm home!"

Immediately, I made my way into the living room. Din was holding his suitcase and something behind his back. I wonder if that was the surprise and not what. As soon as I approached him, I leaned in, planting a kiss against his cheek. Din's smile immediately grew.

"How was work?" I questioned.

"Busy, my dear. We've got a new employee at work. He's got an interesting name. He calls himself Vision." Din informed me.

Vision? That was the name of Wanda's husband. I would have to ask him about that later. However, right now I need to inquire about the surprise he had for the girls. With that in mind, I spoke up. "So you said you said you have a surprise for the kids. Was this surprise a child?"

Din furrowed his brows. "A child...?"

I then watched as his eyes wandered to something behind me. I followed his gaze towards the stairs, but saw no one there. Who was he staring at? Din cleared his throat, gaining my attention. I turned back to face Din, who wore a charming smile that made my heart skip a beat.

"Ah, yes, that was my surprise....for the kids." Din confirmed. "That's surprise all right, there's nothing else at all."

He was acting very suspicious. I raised an eyebrow. "Uh-huh, right."

But I decided to let it go for now. Din then kept his back turned away from me as he headed towards the stairs, hiding something behind his back with a nervous look on his face. What is he hiding?

"I'm, uh, just gonna check on our girls." He explained.

"You do that, I'll make us dinner." I offered.

"That's a wonderful idea, my love. You take care of that." He said.

As soon as I entered the kitchen, I heard Din rapidly running across the hallway upstairs. Okay, something is definitely up. I immediately made my way towards the stairs. I'm going to get to the bottom of this. As I walked up the stairs and down the hallway, I heard giggles coming from Elizabeth's room. I approached the door, leaning in to hear the voices.

"We found him all alone in an alley." Elizabeth mentioned.

"What were you doing in an alley?" Din's voice rang out.

There was a small pause before Elizabeth spoke up, letting out a nervous laugh. "That's not of importance."

"The point is, he has no one. We can't leave him." Maria chimed in.

My heart clenched. We couldn't abandon him, then. I heard Din let out a sigh. "I'll have to talk your mother."

I quickly took off, making my way towards the kitchen, hastily grabbing some pots and pans from the oven. I placed them on the stove, taking out the first thing I found from the pantry, which happened to be pancake mix. As I began to make the food, Din walked into the kitchen with a smile on his face.

"Something smells good." Din mentioned.

Din furrowed his brows, looking at the pan. "What are you making?"

That's when I realized what I grabbed. I held up the pancake mix which stood next to me on the kitchen counter. Din followed my gaze and raised an eyebrow. "Pancakes? Breakfast for dinner?"

I wore a sheepish smile. "Why not? It's something different for a change."

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt. Speaking of different and change." Din said, preparing to change the subject.
