"I'm going to win." I say as I pin Ryder into the mattress. "Not happening." He flips us and pins both my hand above my head with only one hand.

I pout but stop when I feel his hand loosening around mine. I take that opportunity and flip us back.

"I won!" I bounce a little not realizing I'm still straddling him.

He smiles at me. "Yeah, you did."

Over the years Ryder became muscular. Like really muscular, so it was harder to beat him. He has an eight pack for fudge sake and is 6'3.

I'm only 5'6.

He puts his arm behind his head and looks up at me.

"What?"

"Like the position you're in." And there's that god damn smirk.

"Don't flatter yourself." I say and roll off him.

He chuckles and picks up his phone when it starts to ring.

I hear muffled speaking on the other line. "Fine." He hangs up and looks at me. "I need to go Angel. Your idiot brother wants to see me."

We get up and hug each other. When I don't let go he picks me up by my thighs and wraps them around his waist.

"I'll be back before you know it, okay? And don't listen to anything that witch says, alright?" He refers to my mom.

Over the past two year she didn't change. At least not in a good way. She still hates me for some reason, and the others are nothing better, but I don't care.

I have Ryder.

When Ryder moved in with his uncle he told him about the bullying so his uncle helped him until Ry was satisfied with his look.
He also dropped out of school and started working at his uncle's company.

"Okay." He kisses my forehead and my cheek, and puts me down. He throws on his clothes so he's not only in a boxer. And climbs out the window.

Of course not before shooting me a wink.

He doesn't wear worn out stuff since the dude is rich as fuck.

I take a quick shower and brush my teeth. Put on some comfy clothes and go downstairs to see my parents sitting on the couch doing a TV marathon.

"Hi dad." I give him a kiss on his cheek and sit next to him.
"Hi sweetie. What are you up to?" My dad is the only one who actually cares about me.

"Well I was thinking-" I start but get cut off from mom.

"Can't you see we are watching the show?! Be quiet!" Yep, she's still a bitch.

"Honey, don't be like that with her. I was the one asking. I'm sorry if I interrupted your show." He tells her. He gets up and walks to the kitchen with me following behind.

"So, what are you up to?" He asks.

"Well I was thinking about inviting you for my ballet competition." I say shyly. I'm so afraid he's going to say no or that he can't.

"Sure, when is it?"

Yes!

"It's next Friday." I'm way too excited. He couldn't come to the others before because he always had work. And mom and Johnny? Let's not talk about them.

"Oh, I'm sorry but your mother wants to take Johnny and I somewhere."

And there goes my happy mood.

"Oh, yeah it's totally fine. I get it." I give him my best fake smile.

"I'm really am sorry." He has a look of pity in his eyes.

I hate pity.

"It's cool." I sigh.
"Well I hope you guys will enjoy yourselves."

Mom comes in the kitchen. "Why are you here. Nobody wants to see you. Go back to your room and don't come out." Mom sneered at me. "Gosh, why were you born?" She says it so low, only I can hear it.

With that I turn around and go to my room, locking the door.

Tears starts to prick my eyes, but I don't let them fall. Something shiny flashes in my mirror and when I take a closer look my breath hitches.

No, please just not this.

I close the drawer instantly so I don't see the object anymore. My breathing grows heavier.

Fuck, I need Ryder.

I plop down on my bed and take out a book to distract myself. It somewhat works.

The Spanish Love Deception

I try to reason why I love this book while not thinking about my little panic attack just from minutes ago.

I love Aaron Blackford. He just puts my standards higher. A lot higher. He is my biggest crush.

Yep, just keep going. What else, what else? Oh, okay that's a good topic.

Since I was fifteen I forgot about me liking Dean, because honestly, Ryder kept telling me that I deserve better.

I mean I went on a date with him once when I was fifteen and he didn't compliment on my dress or he didn't pull out my chair, and even though these didn't bother me that much, the night's highlight was when I payed for the dinner that he asked me to, because apparently he didn't have enough money with him.

I was so done, I called Ryder if he could pick me up and within five minutes I was seated in his black Camaro.

When it took half an hour for Dean to bring us to the restaurant.

I read for a while but I get a notification so I check my phone.

Grumpy❤️:
Your brother talks my ears off.

Me: I'm sorry. Obviously he's adopted. I'm nothing like him.

Grumpy❤️: How are you Angel? What are you doing?

Me: Good. I'm reading.

Grumpy❤️: You and your stupid fictional characters 😒

Me: that's it, I'm blocking you.

Grumpy❤️: No Angel, I didn't mean it like that.

I leave him on read.

I'm evil I know, but nobody calls my book boyfriends stupid.

I read for another five minutes until I hear noises coming from my window.

I don't even have time to process what is happening when I feel strong arms around me  and a head in the crook of my neck.

"What the hell?!" Just from the scent I can tell who it is.

"You didn't answer me." He nuzzles in my neck a little bit more, then places a light kiss there.

"I won't answer to someone who calls my boyfriend stupid." I tell him angrily.

He picks up his head faster than I have ever seen. "Not boyfriend." He tells me.

I move away from him, but after a second I'm in his arms, again.

"What do I need to do, so you won't stay mad at me, sunshine?" His voice is muffled since his head is in the crook of my neck. AGAIN!

"Buy me food and more books." I say jokingly.

He jumps up. " I'll be right back." He kisses my cheek and goes to climb out the window.

"I was kidding." I speak.

"And I wasn't."

Aaaaaaand, he's gone.
