Hiiragizawa Mansion, London, one month later

Finally the day they had been waiting for more than three years, since their engagement, had arrived. That beautiful spring morning, in the large front garden of the mansion they lived in London, Eriol and Tomoyo would seal a bond that had united them ever since their late—teenage years. And which they had hidden due to the circumstances surrounding them back then. Everything that they had prepared for that special day, from the ceremony to the subsequent celebration, had had the priceless participation and help of their friends but also, and how could it be otherwise, on the collaboration of the Cards, now in their mutual best friend, Sakura Kinomoto's hands. First of all, The Flower had adorned the garden with immense plots of flowers of different sizes and bright colours, as well as preparing a rich bridal bouquet for Daidöuji. The Sweet, on the other hand, had helped the bride in the preparation of the sweets and desserts for the celebration after the ceremony. Music, finally, would liven up both the wedding and the party, although she wouldn't be alone in that task. And her companions would be, on the one hand, one of the future husband—and—wife's guests of honour and, on the other, one of her own companions, The Voice *.

Tomoyo and Sakura were adjusting the final details for the ceremony when suddenly they saw a curiously old vehicle pull up in front of the huge black gates of the mansion. The raven—haired woman laughed softly, covering her lips at the shocked expression on her best friend's face. The woman with straight brown hair, now up to her elbows and gathered in a braid, had her emeralds open wide, staring at that transport. As a matter of fact, Kinomoto appeared to be particularly curious about the way it was being ridden rather than driven. That is, by two robust horses with fur as black as night and long manes. Of course, those animals weren't alien to her; she knew how to ride, indeed. Her husband Syaoran and her friend Eriol had taught her. The curious thing was to find even a carriage in London. The doors opened as a man whose appearance –and even his clothing– immediately struck as vaguely familiar to Kinomoto got out of that vehicle. After him, a second man descended, much younger—in fact, he was even younger than Eriol and Syaoran— dressed rather formally, and whom she also remembered seeing once. Then images of the ball Eriol had arranged a month ago flashed back into her mind, and once again surprise was reflected in her wide—open emerald eyes, with even a faint gleam in them. She confirmed her suspicions when she saw Ruby and Yue approaching to greet them, bowing in greeting, and the black—haired man in uniform raising his left hand covered in a white glove, as if rejecting the formality. However, seconds later, she saw him do something that definitely blew her away. Unlike Tomoyo, she seemed to have an idea of the reason for such action. The dark—haired man subtly took Ruby's hand and kissed it as if it were someone in a higher position. Yue, for his part, only watched them, sideways and with an impassive gesture on his face.

Once the two Guardians stepped aside allowing the guests to go on their way, Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive walked slowly towards the two women. The indigo—haired man greeted them kindly, slightly bowing his head, while his butler repeated the same gesture she had made to Yue and Ruby, then paused briefly at Tomoyo's companion and offered her one of his characteristic smiles. During that time when his gazes connected, however, Kinomoto had the strange feeling of losing herself in the dark—haired man's intense and brilliant crimson orbs. She then understood what had really drawn Ruby's attention to that stranger. At least for her, that she had barely noticed his presence –and that of his companion— at the masquerade party. She snapped out of her reverie when, just as he did with Eriol's Guardian, the dark—haired man took her hand in his and kissed it with the same subtlety. Then, he said, barely in an audible murmur:
