Milo sank to the bottom of the tub, sighing in content as the warm water soothed her sore muscles. She closed her eyes, letting herself soak for the first time in maybe months. Steam was rising towards the cracked window, and she could hear the hooting from an owl outside. It felt like this was the first time in forever where she was allowed to just exist. While visions of him threatened to invade her mind at any given moment, right now all she felt was peace. She could hear Elisa tinkering in the kitchen, and the snores from her bear of a husband. Odin was still selectively mute, and she wouldn't be surprised if he was awake and waiting for her to emerge from the bath.

It wasn't until her fingers were pruned that she chose to emerge. She dressed in a soft cotton shirt, one that was extremely big, probably Gabriel's. The towel was put around her neck, not having long hair anymore was actually good for something, she mused as she walked out in the all-room. As she had predicted, Odin was sitting on her makeshift bed, swinging his legs back and forth as he watched his mother in wonder, as if he didn't quite believe that he was home.
