Walking down the glamorous staircase I couldn't help but feel a sense of love emitting from my eldest sibling.

He gave me a roof over my head. He is about to feed me and has offered to buy me a freaking pet. A pet that'll help me with my disabilities, I guess.

I've been here three days max, and it's the most cared for I've felt in forever.

"Hey Angelo, what's up." Leonardo sat at the bench in the kitchen, his chin resting in his palm as Luca manned a pan on the stove.

I sat down on the other end of the line of chairs, "Afternoon brothers," he replied.

"Lunch!" Luca shouted even though we're right here. I slightly cowered not used to the kind brother being loud.

The rest of my brothers stayed put on the stools so I assumed this is where they eat lunch and used the table for dinner.

Luca handed out plates with the help of Angelo as the two strays found their way here. As in Elijah and Romeo.

"Here you are, m'lady." Luca smiled at me as he placed a plate, that consisted of a grilled cheese, infront of me.

"T-Thank you." He ruffled my hair.

Everyone began to eat and my throat became dry at the thought of having to sit in silence whilst they ate. I worked up the courage to ask something. "Could I-I have a drink please," I started and I kid you not, all of the boys stopped eating to look at me.

"Er- just- just tell me where the glasses are and I'll-"

"No it's okay, babe. I'll get you a drink, what do you fancy?" Luca answered, already standing up and slowly stepping towards a cuboard.

"Milk?" I whispered. These eyes that are staring at me are making me nerous. Seriously, fuck off.

Of course I wouldn't say that to their faces, though.

He didn't reply, only filling the glass with said liquid. After passing me my cold beverage, I thanked him before gulping it down, wincing as it stung my throat.

"Does your throat still hurt, Isabella?" Elijah inquired and I nodded hesitantly. "Okay, after lunch I will take another look at it."

"Say 'ah'."

I did as told and Elijah stuck a tiny torch inside my mouth. He wore medical gloves and made me sit on the kitchen counter when lunch had been cleared away.

Him being a doctor and all really made me feel a bit frightened of him. I don't know why but a fear of doctors doesn't seem that irrational. I mean, hospitals aren't that bad it's simply the people who work there.

Explain to me your phobia, go on. I'll wait.

Yeah, it's hard.

"Alright," he huffed out. "It's healing but it'll take time. Just try to eat softer food for now, I'm guessing that sandwhich didn't help." I shook my head 'no', agreeing with him.

"Okay, that's sorted then. Why don't you go and have a shower or something? I will get you for dinner when it's time." He smiled warmly while he removed his gloves and went to touch my head however I dodged it.

He frowned, "Is everything okay, baby?" I looked at him weird. Baby? Mom called me baby-

But she's not here is she?

Shut up, Betty. Don't piss me off, I'm not in the mood.

"Baby?" I moved again when he reached for my arm. Don't call me that, only mama can.

"Mama-" I jumped down from the counter, Elijah already ready to support me if I fall but I didn't. His arms dropped to his sides. "Only mama can-" My eyes filled with unshed tears; thoughts of my mom resurfacing, the happy ones I couldn't ever experience again.

It was a pretty warm day, the sun shone beautifully against my skin as mama placed down a blanket onto the green, green grass.

"Mommy! Can we eat yet?" Daddy was working today so mommy said we could go on a picnic as it was a sunny day.

She smiled down at me, my impatience amusing to her, "Of course, baby. Your so impatient but it's so cute." She laughed and picked me up, laying me down onto the mat.

"Mama? What's impaysense?" I questioned, not knowing how to pronounce the word correctly. She laughed harder and placed me in her lap when she had sat down herself.

"Nevermind that, Bella. Do you want a strawberry? They're nice and juicy, see?" Mama took a big bite out of one and the strawberry juice dribbled down her chin!

"Mama! There's juice!" I exclaimed, finding the sight funny as mommy wipped it away with her hand. "All gone!" And she stroked my cheek lovingly.

I was four then, my step-father was my father but he wasn't mean. He was a loving dad, as far as I knew, yet something changed in him one day after mom had left us. He was just barbaric with his ways.

"Only mama can call you that?" I nodded, the salty water making its way down my face. "That's okay, that's okay. I can come up with another nickname for you." He's so thoughtful, so much so that I couldn't hold back from hugging him right there and then.

He stumbled back a little bit from the impact but embraced me. "I miss her." I cried and I found his hands rubbing my back in comfort. Suprisingly, this time, the way his hands were moving was so relaxing and comforting. I couldn't help but fully give myself over to the hug.

As in I completly broke down and my legs gave out, luckily Elijah held me steady. Without saying a word, he carried me to the couch in the lounge. "I miss her so much."

I'm gunna celebrate every milestone because who wouldn't.

This is big for me!

Also PLEASE tell me if I've already used the nickname 'baby' from/for Elijah, because if so I need to edit it.

I literally to not have the mental strength to read through 23 chapters and I'd be overly delighted if someone could tell me.

I beg you-

1040 words.
