"Dervix, are you seeing this?" I attempt to share my vision with the Parshuran King. Even though the magic connecting our mind grows faint with distance, I'm still able to sense his shock and horror.

"By the Divine... That is the Void-Sealing Light. I've only ever read about it, in the memoirs of the first Grand Acolyte. But that was just a retelling of the dream he had about the end of the World, and how it started with a great cleansing light." His voice is shaky.

Void... So it is a final measure to hold back the complete breakdown of Balance by sealing away the source of the disturbance... If the situation isn't resolved, the Void will appear.

"I will let the others know that time is shorter than it ever was. I trust you too will hurry. No need to worry about the treatments at the Church. We have much more important things to worry about now." Dervix informs.

I withdraw my mind from his, refocusing on the surroundings around me. A hubbub is building in the city as news of the dome of light spreads. Panic will soon take hold of the people...

I flap my wings and turn towards my Domain. On the way I have World Knowledge run simulations to find the most time efficient way forward. Every moment counts going forward.

*Optimal route found. Acquire the Skills of the Stygian Medusa, leaving only the Earthquake Spell left for your Evolution. Begin preparations for constructing the Labyrinth of the Gods whilst Yggdrasil prepares saplings.*

*As each sapling is prepared, plant it in the designated area. During the same visit, construct a Divine Spring in the designated area. Whilst awaiting the rebirth of the Demigods, continue constructing the Labyrinth of the Gods.*

*Once Demigods awaken, your weapon and you will partake of the enhanced sap of Yggdrasils saplings. Once all Demigods have awakened and their sap partaken of, acquire the Earthquake Spell to Evolve. After Evolution, finish constructing the Labyrinth of the Gods.*

Things should be in order once the month is up, provided everything goes to plan.

A few hours later, I touch down at the beach in my Domain. Immediately, Yggdrasil contacts me.

[I felt it... Did the Divine really engage the Void-Sealing Light?]

"Indeed they did. We have a month to get everything ready." I reply, scanning the deep waters before me for my target.

[I see... Then there's no time to lose. From your location, I'm guessing you're hunting the Stygian Medusa?]

"I am. I've made a plan of action, but it relies on your ability to quickly create saplings to plant near the other Demigods." Stepping into the waves, I let them swallow me as I continue my conversation with Yggdrasil.

[Which should I start with?]

"Whoever you wish reborn first. I'll be remaking the Divine Spring after planting each sapling, so whichever you create first will awaken the soonest." Deep, deep, yet deeper. My body changing slightly as I descend in order to maximize manoeuvrability.

[Very well. Perhaps the reawakening of Ammits Demigod will help her recover. I will begin immediately.]

I feel her attention leave me, and I refocus on the task at hand. Eerie shadows flit about the gloomy dark, monsters only ever known about because their corpses sometimes wash ashore. With curiosity, some follow behind me, though they have to stop once the depths become too great for their bodies to handle.

After a while, the complete darkness that now surrounds me is pierced by several reddish lights. They amble about, stopping and waiting before going out and then reappearing further away from me as I attempt to approach.

They're luring me, I can tell. There's a gigantic lifeform in the direction I'm chasing them. No doubt they'll attempt to draw us both into a fight and then feed on the loser.

I don't have time for playing games like this. Reaching out with my telepathy, I single out one of the monsters before launching myself at it with all my might.

It seems my targeted attack catches it off guard. Its form comes into view. A translucent dome fringed with red, lace-like filaments encapsulates the core of the monster. Oddly, the core is almost like a human face. It even emotes.

Currently, its showing fear.

Sprouting from the core, long meaty tentacles flow below the dome, arranged to almost mimic a flowing dress. One of the tentacles houses the light-emitting organs, now frantically flashing in rhythmic pulses.

*Stygian Medusa
A rare, super-specialized Celluloid monster that lives in the deepest reaches of the ocean. Only known about due to two carcasses washing ashore. Due to their completely unreachable habitat, nothing is known about their habits. One theory is that they use their light-emitting organs to attract prey.*
*Ranking: ? Stars*

Ah, if I wasn't so anxious about the end of the World I'd take some time to study these monsters for prosperity.

"Let's do it after we save the World!"

Yes. Let's.

My thoughts are interrupted by the warmth in my chest announcing the death of the Stygian Medusa. Without letting it retaliate, I ripped its body to pieces with my claws. By now, the gap between me and most other monsters is so wide I can ignore any resistance.

Somehow, it makes me sad.

It's been a while since I checked my Status... I mostly avoid it due to the headache I get from viewing such a large amount of information at once... Let's just look at what I've gotten since last time.

Seeing how many Tokens I've gained, I grit my teeth. Seems killing humanoids is a fast-track towards maxing out unrelated Skills... I shake my head, trying to lose the seething pit of anger and shame in my gut. The whole Control Diadem fiasco still a fresh wound in my psyche.

"Let's get out of here. I think that giant thing has noticed us."

I nod before using Teleport to get back home.
