(Arthur Leywin POV)

The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed. I got up and took a shower with Sylvie and left my room. As I was making my was downstairs, I saw Amber and her bond, which was sitting on her shoulder, come out of her room to head downstairs as well.

"Good morning," I greeted.

"Good morning," she replied in a cranky way.

"Not a morning person I take it," I said with a chuckle. Amber looked away in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry, I'm just not functional without my morning tea," she said. Morning tea, just like Julie. I shook my head, I've been thinking about her a lot recently, and I don't understand why now all of a sudden. Luckily, Amber was still looking the other way and couldn't see my inner turmoil.

"By the way I've been meaning to ask, what type of mana beast is your bond? I've never heard or seen anything like it." I questioned as we walked downstairs.

"I'm not so sure myself. I think he's a flame hawk. His name is Airies. He hatched just a few months ago and the place I found his egg was known to be inhabited by flame hawks." She said, but I was getting the feeling that she knew more than she was letting on.

"Anyway, what about your bond. I can say the same thing about it. I've never heard of a mana beast that looks like that," she asked.

"I'm not sure what she is myself either. I found her mother in a den fighting with another beast to protect it. Her mother was a wolf like mana beasts with little wings. Unfortunately, both the mother and the other beast died, so I decided to look after it. Her name is Sylvie, as you already know."

"I see."

"By the way, are you an augmenter or conjurer? And can you use any elemental magic?" I asked. I wanted to see how strong she was, seeing she was already in the light red stage.

"I'm an augmenter. And as for my elemental magic, I'm a tri-elemental mage with affinities in fire, water and wind." She said with a bright smile. I stood still for a moment shocked.

"Wait, so you're the first ever tri-elemental mage in this continent. Wow, it seems you're really talented," I praised. I myself was a quadra-elemental mage, but that was because of the knowledge of my past life. This girl would probably grow to be one of the most powerful mages in the future.

"Thanks, but you shouldn't cut yourself short. From what I've seen your pretty talented yourself. Being a lightning deviant and all. Especially at such a young age. Even I'm not there yet."

"Thanks." I said with a smile. "Hey I have an idea. Why don't we help each other train."

"... I'm sorry. But, I don't think I can." She said with a sad expression.

"Why not?" I asked.

"It's because of Lilia. You saw it too didn't you. The look of pain and jealousy in her eyes when we were talking at the dinner table yesterday. She wants to be a mage as well, but she knows that there is a high chance she won't become one as both our parents are non-mages."

"So, you don't want to uses magic in-front of her, because it will make her sad." I stated, to which she nodded.

"But then, how are you a light red mage. You must not have had any time to refine your core if you're worried about Lilia seeing you," I questioned.

"I refine my core at night, while everyone is sleeping. Or I do it in secret."

"Well, why don't we train in secret as well like you've been doing. As for when and where we train... I'll figure something out later." I spoke.
