(Arthur Leywin POV)

"What? You mean to say that you are under an Equals Contract?" We all turned our heads to face the source of the voice. It was one of the hooded guards behind the children.

'Damn, did I say something I wasn't supposed to?' I thought.

"Umm, I'm not sure what that is, but she was the one that initiated the contract, so I think so?" I shrugged, hoping to switch topic. Was it that big of a deal who formed the contract? At any rate, it was at least a good thing that Amber didn't say anything about a contract, or else this guard would continue to pester us both.

"Let me take a closer look at your bond!" the hooded guard half shouted, creeping closer to us. Before I could decline, the King stepped in.

"This isn't the time nor the place to study someone's pet. You're being rude, Sebastian." His gaze turned harsh as he rebuked him.

Sebastian dropped to the floor, like a dog begging its master for a treat, "M-my apologies your majesty. Please forgive my impertinence."

*Sigh* "My apologies..." he said while looking at me expectingly, hoping I'd complete the sentence.

"Arthur. Arthur Leywin," I finished, giving a curt bow. As he and his wife gave me a small smile, we took our seats in time to hear the clear voice declaring that the auction would start soon.

A cold shiver made me turn back just to see Sebastian, who had taken off his hood, staring intently at Sylvie, who was nestled on my lap. In all honesty, he looked one those cliches perverts or child predators. I felt my face start to scowl in disgust.

I looked over to Amber to see that she was glaring at Sebastian with eyes full of malice. I held her hand, in such a way that no one else can see, so that she could calm down a bit.

"It's alright. Nothing happened to Sylvie. The king told him not to touch her. And I don't think he's in any position to defy his orders. And if he does try something to Sylvie or Airies..." I squeezed her hand tighter, "Then I'll deal with him personally!"

I felt the tension in her arms drop and I knew I was successful in calming her down.

"Alright. But if he does do something, then... I'll make sure to destroy his life" I felt the corner of my lips curl upwards and a slight smile formed on my face. Usually, I'd find the words she just said scary, as I knew very well what she was capable of. But now, I almost kind of want to see that promise come to fruition.

Looks like I'll have a chance to act on the promise I made to myself yesterday. (Promise he made to himself at the very end of chapter 10 if you don't remember)

We went and sat down on the sofa next to our families. It was close to the window so we could see what was happening at the auction down below. I looked over my shoulder and saw that Sebastian was still looking at Sylvie hungrily. I let out an irritated sigh. I guess he really doesn't value his life. I'll be entertaining to see what Amber does to him.

A loud voice emanated throughout the entire auction house. "Ladies and Gentlemen! May I say that it is of the highest honour for me to be here tonight? All of you are gathered here today for one reason and one reason only, I presume? It is to have the chance to obtain rare and valuable items in this auction!" A roar of cheers rejuvenated the auction house from below us at the man's words, excitement clearly etched on their faces.

"If everyone in the audience would now kindly turn to face the back room at the very top, we have a few exceedingly important figures that have decided to bless us with their presence. Please join me in welcoming the King and Queen of Sapin!" The auctioneer was the first to flick out the tail of his suit and genuflect. The audience immediately followed suit, lowering themselves respectfully in a bow since they couldn't kneel in their seats.
