[Rewrite In Progress] Chapter 10 - The Rivalries Begin

(Amber Helstea POV)

"Aww, they're so cute!" said an unfamiliar voice from behind me. I looked behind me to see a very pretty girl with long flowing platinum blond hair and big round emerald eyes. She wore a gorgeous bright yellow dress and had a sparkling diamond necklace around her neck. She had glimmering silver bracelets on her wrist and was wearing grey 1-inch-high heels. She had a kind aura and gentle about her. Truth be told, she looked gorgeous! I could already see some of the boys staring at her with red faces.

"Are they your bonds?" she asked us.

"Yes. The reptilian looking mana beast is my bond, her name is Sylvie. The flare hawk in Amber's bond, his name is Airies." Arthur answered.

"You're so lucky to have bonds. I asked my father to get me a bond for ages now, but he could never find one. They're in high demand of course and get sold our quite quickly, so you guys are really lucky." The girl said enthusiastically. "I'm Gloria Ovid by the way, what's your names?"

"My name is Arthur Leywin, and this is Amber Helstea." he said signalling to me. I gave her a smile, which she returned.

"Umm..." she muttered as she fidgeted with her hand. She looked like she wanted to ask something but was too afraid to.

"Is something wrong?" I asked her.

"Oh, no. It's just I was wondering if I could hang out with you guys for a while. I don't like the stares that I'm getting from the boys over there." Me and Arthur looked at the group of boys at the corner and saw that in addition to starting at Gloria, they were also starting to stare me now. Arthur gave them a sharp glare and they looked the other way, sweat forming on their foreheads.

"Sure. We don't mind." Arthur said with a gentle smile. Gloria seemed to calm down a bit and we started talking.

"So, Gloria. How does your family know the White's?" I asked, keen to know more about her.

"Well, my family and theirs are close business partners. What about you?" She asked.

"We're the same, but I wouldn't say we are as close as you are." I responded. She just nodded at my statement, signalling that she understood.

"By the way have you met their daughter yet. Victoria White." she asked.

"No, why do you ask." Arthur said.

Gloria looked around her surroundings before speaking. "It's just that she's pretty stuck up and thinks that she has the right to do anything she wants. I've met her a few times before, and it's a pain to deal with her."

"GLORIA!" I sudden voice called.

*Sigh* "Speak of the devil," she said. I looked back to see a beautiful looking girl. She had bright blond hair that was curled and braided at the back. Her eyes shone like bright polished blue gems and her features were delicate. She was wearing a bright red dress and was covered to the brim with golden accessories. She radiated an aura of arrogance and confidence and I knew straight away that I would not get along with her.

She came over to Gloria and greeted her. "Hey, so what did you get for my birthday. It had better be good." I rolled my eyes at her arrogant attitude. She looked around and finally seem to notice us.

"Who are you?" She asked in a commanding tone.

"My name is Arthur Leywin. It's a pleasure to meet you. If I'm not mistaken this is your birthday party right. Well, happy birthday." Arthur said with a smile. A blush formed on Victoria's face when she saw him smile. My eyebrow twitched in annoyance.

'What the hell did he even do besides smiling to make you blush. STAY AWAY FROM MY MAN! HE'S ALREADY TAKEN!' I internally screamed at her.

"My name is Amber Helstea and happy birthday from me too," I said with a forced smile. Luckily, I don't think she noticed, but the same couldn't be said for Arthur and Gloria. Arthur looked at me questioningly and I gave him a look that said I'll explain later. Gloria smirked at me and had a look that said, 'Now you know how I feel.'
