Chapter 3
"Hey Julian, wait up!" I cried.
It was the end of school already and I needed Julian's help with something.
"What do you need?" he asked.
"I wanted to look at your research on commandments," I told him.
The truth was that I wanted to learn more about my species. I also wanted to know who Julian's secret crush was. However, Mercedes had other plans.
"Flayn, we have to plan your birthday party," she sighed.
"I'm really interested though," I insisted.
"I can watch her,' a voice said.
Dorethea poked her head out from a nearby hiding spot.
"How much did you hear?" Julian asked.
"Enough," Dorothea shrugged.
"I can watch your kid sister," she added.
"You work for Claude, I don't trust you," Mercedes said bluntly.
"Let's have your sister decide," Dorothea smiled.
As much as I wanted to avoid Dorothea, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to find out Julian's secret.
"I'll go with her," I told Mercedes.
"You're making a mistake," she chided.
"We'll see," I grinned.
All I thought about on the way was Mercedes and how she was gonna rat me out...
