SONG OF THE CHAPTER:
Line Without a Hook ─ Ricky Montgomery

In a tree shade in a cloud afternoon lies a Doyoung stomping his feet repetitively, fingers fumbling into his borrowed dark navy shirt. As time ticks slowly in his liking, he couldn't help but to be nervous while waiting, feeling jittery the longer he waits and the caffeine in his system is the one to blame for it.

He nags within himself on the overwhelming feeling as there was nothing to feel edgy about on meeting his girlfriend. Doyoung takes a deep breath as he attempts to calm himself down, only for him to get more nervous as he does so. The kim felt an extreme sense of deja vu in the tingly feelings he's having, the same exact feelings he had when he first met Jena personally in a cafe a year back.

His nervousness and worries came to an end on hearing a familiar chant of his name, Doyoung staring up and before he could even notice, Jena already greeted him with a big warm hug. A smile automatically utters on his face and he reciprocates the hug, carrying the suh in his arms and using his strength to twirl each other slowly, being precautious to avoid an accident from happening. The two giggled simultaneously when their eyes met each other for the first time, glad to be with each other's arms after everything that happened.

The two continued to twirl themselves in the hug but couldn't help but to laugh whenever Jena's ukulele hits both of them as Doyoung continues to spin them around. The couple stare at one another with their forehead almost sticking at one another, the kim using the time to press a peck on her lips, telling how much he missed her.

As soon as Jena was placed down to the ground, she immediately caressed the cheek of the older, admiring the gummy smile of the man in front of her. Her smile was now filled with guilt and sorrow, regretting on almost leaving him for good. "I'm sorry for everything, for hurting you, for almost leaving you─"

"Hey, hey, hey, it's alright, it's alright Jen. You don't need to say sorry." Doyoung coaxes with a small smile, hands cupping her cheeks softly; shushing her out from the apologies she could offer. "Also, where on earth did you even get the idea that we broke up?"  He asks with brows furrowed, remembering he never did tell her that they were officially over, only recalling that he only said he was tired from the issues they have.

"You didn't say it but it felt like it." she utters her reply softly, her hands placed comfortably on his waist. She started to tell her insights on what she thought about that painful night, the tears and moody fits she has all because she misinterpreted Doyoung on thinking he finally left her. From narrating her thoughts, she realized how stupid she was on overthinking and only found out her plain stupidity on embarrasing herself last night. "It's not my fault that you're complicated, I hate you." she pouts.
