Lady Mary Lennox became Lady Mary Craven when she married her first cousin, Lord Colin Craven who was the son of Lord Archibald Craven and the Late Lily Lilias Rose Lennox.
Lady Mary's father and Lord Colin's mother were brother and sister, and neither of the siblings knew that they had a niece or nephew.
It was Lady Mary that helped her late Uncle to come to the terms of losing her aunt, Lady Lilias Rose Lennox and she helped reconcile father and son in 1910 and in gratitude Lord Archibald gave Lady Mary her late aunt garden.
It was the most magnificent garden in Yorkshire, England and it became Lady Mary and Lord Colin's favorite place at Misselthwaite Manor.
Lord Colin deserved to live there and start a family with Lady Mary but first he wanted to redecorate Misselthwaite Manor with beautiful new furnishing and he started with their bedroom suite.
Both Lord Colin and Lady Mary loved the color blue, and, in their bedroom, suite was in blue.
Lord Colin and Lady Mary wanted a splendid formal dining room where they could entertain their quests and since Lady Mary and Lord Colin married during King George V reign and they wanted to be able to entertain his Royal Majesty, King George V and his consort, Queen Mary of Teck and they had the most elegant formal dining room.
