𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐇𝐅𝐔𝐋 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 ➸ 𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘰 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘳𝘥

ＣＨＡＰＴＥＲ ２８

The sky turned into a gloomy, dark atmosphere as rain clouds started to pouring in. We stood by the grave of our lovable comrade for 9 years, Sasha Blouse. She may some sort of idiot most of the time, but she's very caring for her other comrades and will always look out for others. She survived so many consequences and I was super proud of her that she faced her fears on titans now, but I still can't believe that she was killed by a child. I placed the bouquet on her stone as rain water dripped off my hair, glancing at Mikasa who was a couple of tombs away, she rests her back on a random tomb. I do pity her because Sasha has been a friend towards her━other than Eren or Armin, she has been a friend that Mikasa can be comfortable with other than us. 

"Hey! You're a Marleyan, what are you doing here?! This is only a graveyard for Eldians that your kind has killed!" An angry voice, yelled 

I looked over to see a soldier kicking someone on the ground as Jean and Connie pulled him back. Luckily, the soldier left but not before mumbling more insults on the said Marleyan. Me and Mikasa went over to see Niccolo, kneeling on the ground as he clutches his head━he's probably the Maryelan that the soldier was bullying earlier. Niccolo was also in the ship that boarded in Paradis, along with Yelena and Onyakopon. We took hostage the Maryelans who aren't part of Yelena's plan, including Niccolo, which Yelena recommended him as a cook. Niccolo made the finest and exotic dishes━well I guess it's because there are limited food here in Paradis and there's just a lot of kinds in their nation, but clearly Sasha loves all kinds of food, including in Niccolo's cooking. 

"Damn... Is Sasha really dead?" He questioned

I frowned at his state, because of Sasha, Niccolo took her feelings on his cooking as a belief that his dishes can bring happiness to people. But, i do believe that he does have personal feelings for her.

"Man, I'm so full~" Sasha said, leaning on the table as she clutches her stomach after hogging all of Niccolo's cooking

I let out a subtle burp before I turn to the brunette, potato girl, "Looks like you really like Niccolo's cooking," I commented

Sasha nodded, happily with sparkles in her eyes, "Yeah! I never eaten like this in years!" She exclaimed with red cheeks

Jean smacked her head, "Dumbass! Because we never had this kind of food even after our birth!" He retorted as I snorted a laugh

"Oh, shut up, Jean!" Angrily, Sasha yelled, "Besides, imagine all the other food Niccolo can make," She commented, dreamily

"Looks like someone is having feelings on the Maryelan," Connie smirked

Sasha looks away with blushing cheeks before firing back that she doesn't like Niccolo, but she likes his cooking. Jean butted in commenting that Sasha probably dreamt of having Niccolo as her husband. The potato girl blush even more before clutching on me, "MIA LOOK THEY'RE BULLYING ME!"

I laughed before telling the boys off, "Well, I'm not gonna lie, it must have feel nice to go home from a war, just to be greeted by your husband making delicious food," I stated (Niccolo best male wife)

"She got shot by some little girl who infiltrated the airship?" Niccolo asked, "Come on, that's ridiculous.." He added

"No, she wasn't just any little girl. She was trained," Mikasa said

"A warrior candidate," Niccolo guessed

Jean apologizes for having his guard down as I clicked my tongue, "Why are you apologizing? I just made food for her," Niccolo said

Connie frowned as he placed his hand on the blonde's shoulder, "Thanks for feeding her so much good food, Niccolo" He said

"Also, it wasn't just 'making her food', you made food that she really appreciates," I added

Niccolo's dull eyes stared off in the distance, "What was she to you, Connie?"

"Sasha and I might be as well have been twins.." He trailed off, ".. It feels like I've lost half of myself,"

We heard multiple feet walking towards us as we all turned, only to see Sasha's parents and a little blonde girl. I believe that she's Kaya━a girl that she saved from a titan when Wall Rose was "breached". I guess she's now adopted by the Blouse family. 

They placed their bouquet on their daughter's grave as her mom and Kaya sobbed on their daughter's sudden death. We watched the family mourn for Sasha, it's sad that they barely even see Sasha, but now they'll never get to see her again. 

"um, excuse me.." Niccolo called, "Your daughter enjoyed my food more than anyone I've ever met. So if it's all right with you, I'd like to make something for you, too," He insisted

Her father looked at him with hesitation, but it seems that he sees that Niccolo does no harm before he lend out his hand, "On the house, I reckon?"

Niccolo smiled before accepting his hand, "Of course,"

"Man, he can be a good husband for Sasha," I thought as I internally clutched my heart

After visiting Sasha's grave, we went back to the headquarters and just discuss some reports that we got, "He arrested the volunteer soldiers. Never would've expected Commander Pixis to do something this drastic," Jean commented

"The Survey Corps has a close relationship with them, apparently that's why we weren't told about it," Armin sighed

Jean agrees as Connie spoke up, "Hey, did that really look like Eren to you guys?" We all turned to him, "Because if you ask me, it wasn't really him," He stated

"What are you getting at?" I asked him

"We'll have to be ready to kill him if the time comes-" He said as my eyes widen, but Mikasa stood her ground, shocking Connie 

She glared furiously at him, making Connie wonder is she was siding with Eren and his plan with Zeke, but she denied━knowing Eren cares about us. I look at the ground, hesitantly to speak us. Yes, Eren did admit that he cares about us, yet at this point, I don't know what to feel. Some things change about him after our 4 years staying in Marley, what did Zeke told him? Has he been seeing him after staying there? 

"That's where you're wrong," Jean said, "In the past, he's try to keep you off the front lines, no matter how strong you were. But he made Armin destroy a military port, he made Mia kill hundreds of soldiers, brought you to the battlefield along with me and Connie," He ranted as I looked down, speechless

"That's just means he trusts us!" Mikasa retorted, "He would have been helpless out there,"

"And Sasha wouldn't have to die," Connie blurted, "Mikasa, when Sasha died, what do you think Eren did? Do you think he cried? Regretted what he'd done?"

"Connie, enough.." I snarled

His face contorted to an enraged expression, "The bastard laughed. Was Sasha's death funny to him? How about you explain that one, Mikasa?" He gritted his teeth

Mikasa's eyes widened in shock as she removed her gaze on Connie, probably speechless about that Eren had done, "Connie, stop. You're out of it again. Calm down for now," I stood up, pushing Connie on his shoulder

"Let's talk with Eren━me, Mikasa and Mia," He suggested, "We'll find out what Eren really wants,"

I sighed, "I'm sorry, but I have to back out from your plan," Armin's eyes widened

"Why? Mia, we're the only ones who completely know Eren and his motives! There must be something going on his mind right now," Armin exclaimed

"But, people change, Armin! After 4 years of staying in that damned place, I worried about Eren everyday. What is he doing? Was Zeke speaking to him during that period? Was he able to change his mind?" I vented, causing Armin to frown, "And what is good about talking him out the situation? If he has the same goal as Zeke... We might not be able to change his mind," Tired and frustrated, I walked out the small meeting room━walking out my irritation.
