It was finally time to release my song. It was a little rushed because of Christmas, hsmtmts, and spending time with y/n, but I am so glad we did it. It was so much fun, and y/n was so supportive. I love her so much. I mean...we haven't said the 'L-word' yet. But I do! I've only known her for a month, but I know I love her!
I heard a knock on my door, and I opened it to find an excited y/n with sparkling grape juice. She popped the cork and hugged me, carefully setting down the grape juice. (She doesn't like wine)
"YAYYYY!!! IT'S RELEASE DAYYY!!!" She yelled out.
I kissed her on the forehead, "you are so freaking cute."
She smiled, "no you! Okay, so who's coming tonight for the release/New Years party??
"Us, Ruth, Matt, Sofia, Frankie, Joe, Julia, and Larry. And if you want to invite anyone else?"
"Yes!! I love the hsmtmts cast. We haven't seen them since your birthday!"
"Yeah, it's been a while!" I smiled, she's so energetic.
"When are they coming?"
"6:00." I answered, checking the time. We still have like 4 hours before they get here, "do you want to go live?"
"Yes we should have a release party!!!"
"Exactly what I was thinking." I said as I set up my ring light and y/n and I got into the frame. She laid my head on my shoulder as I started the stream.
"Heyyy everyone!!" I said as people entered the stream.

I laughed, "uhm...here." I pointed to a comment, "Y/n what do you like doing in your freetime?"
"Hmm...I like to sing and act."
"Oh yeah, you guys she was Elphaba in Wicked and it was so so lovely. She is amaaaaazing."
She scoffed, "says youuuu. You guys, Heaven is You sounds SO GREAT. I can't wait until it is released."
We answered a few more questions and talked to some fans. Avoiding the question about us dating.
"Mkay, everyone. Our friends are going to be heading over here soon, so we're going to head out. Peaceee." I said as y/n blew a kiss to the camera.
"That was fun." She smiled at me, as I agreed. We cleaned up my apartment a little bit and I played piano for her.
I got a notification from my phone.

Our friends starting arriving, finally. The first ones to get there were Matt and Ruth. Together. Hm. I didn't know they were friends. Ruth was wearing a green sweatshirt. It was very similar to one Matt always wears.
*Y/N POV*
Ruth and Matt entered Josh's apartment very flirtatious. It was really obvious that they started hanging out. I have a list of things that they did that made it seem like they were a couple: • Whispers in each other ears • Ruth is very obviously wearing Matt's sweatshirt • Giggling in a corner • Flirting • Matt's arm around her • Smudge of what looks like Ruth's favorite lip gloss on Matt's cheek
Dang, I should be a spy. Or a relationship counselor.
Anyways, it's not like I don't ship. I totally do, but I just wasn't expecting it.
After a little bit longer Frankie, Joe, Julia, and Larry showed up to Josh's house. We started watching tv, eating, talking, playing games, and prepping for Josh's song release (Frankie and I are competing for who's the bigger fan of Josh).
Matt and Ruth were being secretive and suspicious once more and I burst out laughing. I can't handle this anymore, "are you guys talking?"
Matt and Ruth raised their eyebrows, "what-no-what are you even talking about-just because we showed up at the same time???"
I sighed, "it's obvious. Almost as much as Josh and I."
"Oh, okay, so did you just admit you two were dating." Ruth responded.
I clasped my hand over my mouth, "um-no?"
Josh laughed, "it's fine y/n."
"Oh, okay. Yeah, we're dating. Now you guys admit it." I replied, happily.
"We're not dating!!" Matt and Ruth giggled. I rolled my eyes.
"We are!" Frankie and Joe said.
I laughed, "yes we know."
A little bit later Matt and Ruth went somewhere secret, and came back. I asked, "did you have fun kissing?" I taunted.
Matt responded, "as a matter of fact, yes. Yes I did."
Ruth slightly punched Matt on the arm saying, "MATT."
"Oh. I wasn't supposed to-whoops. Sorry Ruthie."
I giggled, "I knew it!! And I LOVE IT!!" I said hugging them.

A few hours later it was almost midnight. Josh and I were hanging out on the patio, laying on the patio couch we has.
"Y/N..." he started, "I wanted to tell you that-"
He was interrupted by a cheering sound from inside, "5...4...3...2...1!!!!!!!!!!"
"Happy New Year's Josh," I smiled, kissing him on the lips.
He smiled back, "happy new year my love."

Everyone left after a while, and Josh and I started cleaning up. "Oh, what'd you want to tell me?" I asked him, remembering earlier.
"Hm?" He asked. "Oh, um...I wanted to tell you that..." he set down the dish he was washing, "I love you Y/N. A lot. And I know we just met a month ago, but-" I stopped him right there, and kissed him. I smiled, "I love you too, Joshua Bassett."
