Part 44 - facetime

*josh pov*

I was extremely bored. Matt and I were in our hotel room and we both just sitting on our phones. We didn't have a meet and greet until tomorrow. "Bro, I'm so bored." Matt said.

"Me too."

"I'm gonna call Ruth. Can you leave?"

"Dude, you can call her with me in the room."

"That's embarrassing."

"Ugh, fine. I'll take a walk, and call y/n. Thanks for the idea, Matt."

"Of course. I actually have an idea. We'll both call our girlfriends and the one that answers first, that guy can stay in the room."

"Ooh, good plan." I especially loved this plan because I knew y/n would answer right away. She always does.

"Okay. 3, 2, 1..." We both counted down and pressed the facetime button.

*y/n pov*

I heard both Ruth and my phones ringing at the same times. I answered it right away.

"Joshyyy!!" I exclaimed when I saw his cute face.

"YES! THANK YOU Y/N! HAHAHA, MATT YOU CAN LEAVE NOW!" I gave him a confused look as he continued, "oh, whoever's girlfriend answered last had to leave."

"Oh, well, you're welcome." I smiled.

"Yes, thank you darling."

"Anytime." I grinned at my adorable boyfriend, "I've been missing you, and you singing constantly around my apartment."

"I know, I miss you so much too. But I can sing for you if you'd like."

"Yes, please!!" I said, excitedly.

I saw him grab Nugget, his guitar, and he started strumming. I recognized the song as Even When from hsmtmts season 2. I have streamed it so many times.

"Every night I've been counting the days-" he started.

"I see your face almost every night." I continued with the lyrics from The Best Part. The lag was insane, but it was cute. He smiled when he heard my part.

"'Cause I just wanna be there when you wake."

"Sure maybe New York is not close."

"LA, always seems so far away."

"But I'm still breathin' you in deep."

"But I hope you know that we're still close. Because...even when you and I are worlds apart. I hold you in my heart..."

"The best part! Is knowing there's something in my dreams that always makes me smile...it's you!" We finished the song where I was like a whole minute behind him. I laughed as we finished and said, "ah, Josh - that was so laggy."

"Yeah." He laughed, "so y/n. You know how we filmed season 3 so I could be in it before they wrote me off?"

"Yes."

"So I had to write uh...a love song, and I wanted to tell you-." He scoffed with a laugh, "this is cheesy." He rolled his eyes, "I thought about you, the entire time while I was writing it."

I blushed, "awww, Joshua! That's not cheesy, that was adorable. You're adorable. I wrote a song about us, too. I wanna post it."

"Ooh ooh ooh sing it for me pleaseee."

"Just for you." I said grabbing my phone and going to my piano, "Your hand on my leg under the oil painted sky. Wind blowin' through our hair on the 405, and traffic's at a standstill, it's LA, what'd you expect? We're listenin' to Zeppelin, you're kissin' my neck. You cradle me in your arms in the dark in the back. We're lookin' at the stars, the moon's lit Cheshire cat. And your parents can probably see from the window. They'll say, 'They're just kids, so what the heck do they know?' Scared, I love you so much I'm scared. 'Cause they say young love's a loss or it's a lesson. Here, I always wanna be here. My heart is tellin' me we're gonna be the exception."

Josh watched and then started clapping, "you are so talented, y/n, seriously."

I blushed, "thanks, Joshy."

"But honestly, y/n, I know we're going to last, so-uh-well you don't have to be scared about that."

I sighed, "Josh, we can hope as much as we want, but there's like a small chance that we'll make it. We're going to be so far away from each other."

He faltered, "y-yeah, but, we have to try. That's all we can do."

"Y-yeah. I know, Joshy."

He gave me a sad smile, "I love you, you know that."

"I love you too."

a/n: seriously, I think there's only 8 more parts. That's insane. I'm going to miss this book :(
