Ding Dong Ding Dong...

Karina twirled her pencil around aimlessly, she knew it wasn't her fault that her theory about this tech-to-human virus was correct... But she couldn't help but feel guilty about Seulgi and Mark's hospitalization...

She sighed, glancing over to see Winter staring at her from across the classroom, smiling and giving a secret wave when she saw that she had garnered the older's attention.

Karina waved back, giving her friend a tired smile.

Winter then gave her a thumbs up and a tilt of her head, but when Karina didn't answer right away, she motioned her thumb back and forth from up to down, up to down.

Karina stifled a giggle, the younger girl somehow making her smile even with all this weight on her shoulders. She glanced to see if the teacher was looking, giving Winter a thumbs up when she saw that the cost was clear.

But as she turned back to the front, her frown came back... Worried about what her friends' reactions will be to hear that this... virus... has arrived at their school...

'I'd have to tell them at lunch...' She thought to herself as she began to write the notes on the board.

She'd tell them truthfully, maybe leaving out exactly what happened to Seulgi and Mark since it might bring more fear to them...

"Miss Yoo, please read paragraphs three through four."

Karina snapped out of her thoughts, nodding at the teacher and standing up to read her designated passages.

....

...

...

...

"Unnie!"

The raven-haired girl turned around to have a two-colored-haired girl hug her arm, grinning up at her.

Karina smiled at Winter, "hey, Minjeong-ah."

The two walked side by side in silence, but Karina couldn't help but notice students whispering around them. No, not about them as a duo, but about her. Suho and the others must have already started talking about the virus, which led to the regular students staring at the remaining members of the student council with mixed pity and a bit of desperation.

'As if a group of students could do more than gather information...' Karina thought to herself while sighing. It'd be one thing if this was a case of a few teenage prankers, but this was far bigger than that, it was something plaguing the whole of South Korea.

"Jimin-unnie... Do you want to say something?"

Karina glanced down at the puppy-like girl next to her, "I'll say it when we're all together."

That got the younger girl worried. Behind Winter's smile, she knew something's been up with her older friend for the last few weeks. But only today did she realize how bad it was. Winter nodded, opting to shut her mouth until they got to their usual spot for lunch.

"Karina-unnie! Winter!"

The two girls looked up to see Giselle and NingNing already at their table, waving at them widely. Before Karina could even sit down, the youngest of them all asked her a question.

"Unnie, why is everyone talking about you?"

Giselle nodded, "yeah, and the other council members too... And what's this virus everyone's talking about?"

Winter tilted her head at Karina, not knowing anything of the matter since she has yet to hear the story.

The oldest sighed and plopped down on a seat, "sit down all of you, I have to tell you all something."
