Maddie didn't care whether she didn't pack anything. all she knew was she wasn't ever going back to her mom, and her sister. people were staring at maddie as if they saw an alien. maddie tried to hide her face, though her hair was far too short to do that now. she wped her eyes with her sleeve, and ran to the park. she kept running until her feet were aching. when she arrived at the park, she ran to the big tree where she and kenzie had hidden when they were smaller. maddie crawled under the branches and into the hollow bit. she sat there and let her tears come.
after she had no more tears, she opened her eyes. it was dark out. she badly wanted to go home, though she knew that was a bad idea. she crawled out. there were still a lot of people hanging around. Maddie had pins and needles everywhere, so she walked them out. after she had done three laps of the entire park, she decided to go to the lake.
