I. Pride Month

It was the eve of the celebration of Pride month days after June started.
New and Off stayed at home watching the celebration being broadcasted live.

Off was preparing for dinner and New slumped on a couch, laying on his stomach his legs sprawled out not leaving any space to sit on. His hand hanging on the floor clutching the remote, a pillow on his face supported his face facing the TV sideways.

" They are dancing below the flag, I wonder how it feels like underneath with all the people that accepted your gender preference.." - New

"Hmmmm, why do you want to be part of it?"- Off

He answered from the kitchen while tasting the Chicken with cashew nuts, New's favourite.

" I don't know, I don't even know if I am gay or bi? Am I selfish for not thinking about it?"- New

"No one's judging who, as long as you don't hurt anyone. I think that's fine"- Off

Off turned off the stove and went to New taking off his apron and placing them down on the kitchen tile. Scooted himself at the little space at the edge of the couch as New fixed his position where he was facing Off sitting with crossed legs.

" I don't know Off, I like you does that mean I'm gay?"-New

"Mmmm... Do you like the opposite sex?men?other than me?"- Off

New shook his head.

" What do you feel about being close to Tay like we do?"- Off

"He's my best friend, nothing close to what I feel when I'm with you"- New

" What if some other guys?hmmm Joss, Luke, Kay? or even Gun?" - Off

New looked at Off weirdly.

"Are you trying to set me up to one of them because, I can't imagine anyone else other than you"- New

Off smiled when he heard what New said. Then New halted thinking about how bold of him to say that in front of Off he blushed being shy and all.

" See, it doesn't matter how others think, what matters is what you feel. If you were put in a position where you would choose which are you. It's like being unfair to what you feel, and knowing you don't want to answer something you're not sure if it will just stress you out."- Off

"I don't know, I just know that I want to be with you that's all"- New

" Same thing with me, I want to be with you and it makes me happy. I don't care what preference would you call that as long as I can be with you is all that matters"- Off

New hugged Off's torso, his head on Off's chest.

" mmmm, I think it's time to eat. I don't want this baby to go hungry would I?"- Off

"Thank you, even after all this time I am still confused about things"- New

" However how long I will always be here with you, maybe next year we celebrate and go over that flag, you might not know "- Off

He smiled at New. They ate their dinner with small talks and laughter, all the simple things that made them both happy in their world.

New Pov

I already finished my shower and preparing to hit the sack when I came out and all the lights were out.

" Off? Is there a power outage what's happening?"- New

It was dark and quiet.

"Off?"- New

Then fairy lights lit the whole bedroom around the walls, it was a bit messy some of the lights tipped the frames on the table. Off was standing in the middle holding some cloth.

" Hey baby, could you umm... Sit on the bed please?"- Off

"What's happening, babe?"- New

I complied with Off's request. Sitting in the middle.

" Okay, I want you to raise both your hands"- Off

"Baby, what's this. I swear if this is a prank or something. "- New

I mumbled but still did what Off asked. I knew he would never do anything I hate.

" It will be done soon I promise, okay now are you ready, please close your eyes now"- Off

"Off?"- New

" No peeking Thitipoom"- Off

"Ugh... Okay okay, chill"- New

Something landed on my hands a soft fabric somewhat velvety. And I felt the bed dip I knew he was getting in bed beside me.

" Okay now open your eyes"- Off

When I opened my eyes I saw him smiling at me his eyes almost gone squinting happily. It was one of those smiles I like the most and what made me fall in love with him. Then I looked at the colours of the rainbow where there. It was pretty the fairy lights helped it glow in the dimly lit room.
The fabric was a big shawl one you used on the beach and both of us were raising our hands underneath it.

"When I said I wanted to experience it  I didn't expect this. You and your surprises. " - New

"Hehe well I figured why wait on next year if we experience it intimately like this, it doesn't matter if people are around. What matters is we both are here, just the two of us and the rainbow above us"- Off

Sometimes I don't get how Off's mind works but I was lucky he is the way he is and I love him for that.

" I love you"- New

I let go of the fabric and hugged him tight as he did the same.

"I love you too"- Off

We kissed underneath the rainbow that draped over us with smiles and giggles that filled the room. I was happy I experienced it with him and I don't think I would want anybody else.
