"Hobi... I don't even think it's possible to mess up gravy, but you're doing it," Jin chided.

She giggled, watching Hobi's small pout as he drew back from the stove. "What are you talking about, Jin-hyung? It looks great! You're just a perfectionist when it comes to cooking."

"Hobi... it's grey."

"It's supposed to be grey! I'ts grey-vy," Hobi burst out laughing at his own joke, bringing her with him as they doubled over in giggles.

Jin eyed the pair of them, an apron around his waist and wooden spoon in hand which he pointed accusingly at Hobi. "I'm only letting you away with this because that was a great joke. But get out of the kitchen, Hobi, me and noona will finish this without you."

"Fine!" Hobi sighed dramatically, clutching his heart as if he were wounded. "I'll never forget this betrayal, Jin-hyung."

She continued to laugh, losing herself in the moment with the two hilarious boys as they prepared the Christmas dinner for all eight of them.

Over the past month, she had worked tirelessly with Jin on every meal, perfecting her recipes and finding that she loved it almost as much as the handsome eldest member did. Her favourite thing to make was desserts - the beauty and sweetness of the dishes gave her a strange sense of satisfaction. And maybe, the fact that a certain member appreciated her desserts more than anyone else also made her a little biased.

"You lot are so loud," a grumbling voice came from the kitchen doorway, and she turned to see Yoongi shuffling in, ruffling his hair.

She blushed. Even after weeks of getting accustomed to living with the boys and being welcomed into the fold, she still felt like Yoongi resented her on some level for crashing their lives and careers.

"H-hello, Yoongi," she said shyly. He just grunted at her in response.

"Yah! Don't be so rude, Min Suga! Just because you just woke up doesn't mean you can greet noona that way," Jin ranted, still waving his wooden spoon around and talking at the speed of light.

Yoongi's face darkened but she could have sworn she saw him blushing lightly. "Sorry, noona," he mumbled.

She grinned at him. "That's okay. Would you like to try?" she offered out a spoonful of the banoffee pie that she was working on. Yoongi eyed it warily at first, but one look at Jin's scathing glare and raised eyebrows, and he conceded.

"Okay," he said, moving towards her, taking the spoon and tasting it. His face contorted in pleasure almost immediately.

"Woah," he marvelled. "That's delicious."

As he smiled they locked eyes, and for the first time since she'd arrived, she felt it. That beautiful, warm bond that she shared with all of the boys was finally passing between Yoongi and her.

It felt like she had, at long last, broken through to him. Shown him that she could be more than just a burden.

She suspected that he felt it too, because he coughed awkwardly, averting his gaze and mumbling something about needed to go finish a track. As he moved out of the kitchen, Jin scoffed. "Don't worry, noona. He's just cranky because he only got twelve hours of sleep today instead of the recommended fourteen."

She scrunched her brow. "Fourteen?"

"Mm, that's how long cats are supposed to sleep for."

The pair of them giggled, Hobi joining from the table where he was content to just observe them cooking now, when Jungkook barrelled in, wearing a huge Christmas jumper and clearly out of breath.

"Noona! I heard you made banoffee pie! Can I try it? Please please plea-"

"Yah!" Jin brought the wooden spoon high into the air once more. "I cook for all of you all year round and you never come into the kitchen, but now that a beautiful woman is in here, you all want to join? Typical!"

She giggled at Jin rolling his eyes, as Jungkook sidled up alongside her.

"Hey, noona," he said in a quieter voice so no one would overhear. "Are you ready to give Namjoon-hyung his gift later?"

Jungkook's doe eyes were wide and sparkling when she met them, her stomach flipping a little in anticipation of exchanging gifts with Namjoon. "Yeah, I think so," she replied. "But... I'm a bit nervous. That it won't work."

Jungkook smiled a huge reassuring grin, his bunny teeth showing adorably. "Don't worry, noona. Even if it doesn't, he'll still love it. But I have a funny feeling it will work."

She grinned. The truth was, she had a funny feeling it would work too.

"Hey, Jin-hyung, do you know how long dinner will be? I have to call my parents but I won't yet if... oh, um... hi," came the familiar voice from the doorway.

Namjoon was looking at her directly, face flushed already from the one glass of champagne he'd had so far. Her heart nearly jumped into her throat at the sight of his rosy cheeks, his hair slightly dishevelled, his thick knit sweater displaying his broad chest beautifully.

"Hi," she responded, shyly drinking in the dimpled grin he gave her in response. It was only now that she realised the kitchen had gone stiflingly quiet around them, Hobi and Jungkook with cheeky smiles on their faces.

"Yah!" Jin finally broke the silence, waving the wooden spoon once more. "Everyone who isn't cooking, out! Now! I need my kitchen in harmony if this food is going to be any good!"

With a slight grumble, Jungkook and Hobi moved towards the door, not before Jungkook had given her a reassuring squeeze on the hand, and they took a reluctant Namjoon with them.

As soon as they had gone, she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding, begging the redness in her blazing cheeks to recede as she turned back to the stove.

Jin smiled knowingly as he drained the grey liquid out of Hobi's old saucepan.

"Whatever you have planned for that boy, I hope he's ready for it," he smirked.
