"Kookie..."
Celine gripped the doorframe of Jungkook's bedroom, gazing at her friend. He was hunched over on his small couch, where they had played countless video games together.
When he heard her voice, he didn't look up, simply shaking his head in his hands.
"Kookie... I'm sorry," Celine managed. She was still crying, the tears hot on her cheeks, and she wondered if now that she'd started she would ever stop.
Fumbling into the room, feeling dizzy and weak without Namjoon beside her, she was aware of how weak she was becoming. It was clear, to her and to Namjoon, that the deterioration Doctor Lee had told them about was much quicker than they'd thought. But she knew if she got to Jungkook she could connect with him, and boost it for a little while.
She stumbled across to him, dropping onto the couch beside him, and curling into his side, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Talk to me," she whispered, to his still-hunched figure. "Please."
But Jungkook merely shuddered, his chest rising and falling dramatically, the same way Namjoon's had earlier.
He was crying too.
Celine's arms went around him, clutching his body to hers as he let it out.
She had expected him to be upset. Of course she had. He was her closest friend, after all. It was Jungkook who helped her on what to do with Namjoon on her first date. Jungkook who took her shopping at Christmas. Jungkook who played video games with her, and was there always, as a shoulder to cry on when she was pining for Namjoon.
Celine had been preparing herself to leave Namjoon. She was only just realising, now, what it would mean to lose Jungkook and all of his hyungs too.
"You can't," Jungkook managed, his words muffled by his hands. "You can't g-go."
She didn't know what to say to this. She wanted desperately to be able to change her mind. To stick around even another few months longer.
But she felt the pang of weakness go through her again, and knew she had no choice.
"I have to," she whispered. "I want to stay, Kookie. So badly."
Jungkook nodded, and Celine knew that he accepted her words. That she wouldn't be doing this, wouldn't be telling them, if she had a choice.
