Life as Jeon Jungkook was a pretty hard one at the best of times.

At least, that is what Jungkook dramatically theorised, as he stared out of the kitchen window impatiently on a cold Friday evening. Celine and Namjoon would be back from London any minute, and he couldn't wait.

Not least because the house felt too empty with just six, instead of eight - although weirdly, it did. But also because Jungkook had been feeling off all week.

He knew that part of his recent mood was to do with Celine being out of the country. Although his bond with her was nothing like Namjoon's, they were connected nonetheless, and Jungkook had been deprived of that connection for a week now. Not that it would kill him - not the way it would kill Namjoon to be separated from her - but still. He needed to be near her again.

And besides, she had become one of his closest friends in a matter of weeks. Certainly - he thought, anyway - she considered him her best friend. So being without her for a week, after living with her for a while now, was harder than he'd thought.

Yeah, that must be it, Jungkook thought. That's the reason why I'm so unhappy right now.

And yet, as he looked out the window of the house, sighing, he knew there was something else.

Something he'd been pushing down, ignoring.

Something he wasn't ready to face yet.

Before he could even give it any more thought, a black SUV was rounding the corner onto the street, and Jungkook perked up.

"They're here!" he shouted excitedly through the house, hearing the other boys moving around and beginning to barrel down the stairs.

It was a commotion the moment Namjoon and Celine stepped through the door. Everyone seemed to want to hug her, but Jungkook would be damned if they called him the golden maknae for nothing, and he got there first, throwing his arms around Celine.

In seconds, the connection began to pour through him again, making him feel better than he had in days. He drank in her laugh as he squeezed her, her own arms coming up and around his waist.

"Jungkookie," she said fondly as she pulled away, her face a beaming smile. "I missed you so much."

"You have no idea, Noona," he grinned back, moving to giving Namjoon a side-long hug too, and then watching as the other boys greeted them too. Soon enough they were proceeding through to the kitchen, the boys pulling their suitcases through as they all flopped into chairs.
