"Is he waking up yet?"
"No, Jungkook-ah. Stop prodding him. He needs to sleep."
"Sorry, Yoongi-hyung."
Yoongi sighed. "What do you think happened to them? Did Namjoon talk to any of you guys?"
The other boys shook their head.
"No," Hobi said sadly, gazing down at their leader, who was once again laying side by side with Celine in bed. It felt vaguely reminiscent of back when Celine had arrived, and she and Namjoon had been seperated for a few hours, back before they knew that they weren't able to do it.
But this... this felt more serious, somehow.
"He was out in the corridor," Yoongi observed. "Maybe they were apart for too long?"
"But they only came in a few minutes before I found him out there," Taehyung replied from his position next to Jungkook. "So they can't have been apart for that long, hyung."
Yoongi ruminated on this.
There was a strange sense among them that something wasn't right.
"Is it just me," Jimin said quietly now, gazing down at Celine and Namjoon, "or does anyone else feel like something is going on here that we don't know about?"
Jimin's quiet question was met with nods by the rest of the group.
"Celine told me she was sick," Jungkook blurted out, and then looked ashamed. Yoongi knew he felt bad for betraying her trust. "A few weeks ago. But I made her promise to tell hyung. Nothing that bad can be wrong, right?"
For a moment it was quiet. The six boys stared down at the connected pair, trying to recharge their bond, and felt entirely powerless. Though they were part of this bond, part of her power... they had no idea how to help.
Especially not without Namjoon. When Namjoon suffered, they felt a little unmoored, as though they were on a boat without a captain to steer them.
"Whatever it is," came Jin's voice, as calmly positive as he always was, "they will work it out. And we should be here for them."
Normally, Jin's positivity would put them at ease, but none of the boys seemed convinced this time.
Before anyone else could speak, a knock sounded at the door. Jungkook went to get it, and returned a few minutes later.
