"did you hear?" sadie's friend, kaili asked. sadie looked up from her phone and furrowed her eyebrows.

"hear what?" sadie questioned.

"the nhl draft is going to be in vancouver! you know how crazy that is to have so many hockey boys here in our town." kaili exclaimed.

sadie widened her eyes and searched up the upcoming nhl draft location. sure enough, it was vancouver.

"the top prospect, jack hughes, he's probably gonna go to the devils. it's amazing!" kaili smiled.

"yeah..that's crazy." sadie sighed. ever since she moved to vancouver, she's only talked to the hughes boys a handful of times.

sadie congratulated them on their big achievements, but none of them ever reach out and start a conversation.

"why do you look so upset?" kaili asked.

"huh? oh, nothing." sadie brushed it off.

"sorry im late." emmy said as she came into sadie's bedroom.

"it's fine." sadie assured.

"what're we talking about?" emmy asked.

"jack hughes probably being the first round pick." kaili told her.

"oh, awesome! you know jack's brother, quinn, ugh he is so handsome." emmy gushed. sadie smiled sadly and nodded her head.

the crush that she had on quinn before she had left michigan was still there.

"sadie, what is that?" emmy asked, looking at a picture on her wall.

"oh my god, is that the hughes brothers?" kaili shrieked. she stood up on sadie's bed and examined the pictures closely.

"it is the hughes brothers! you know them?" kaili asked.

"yeah, we were neighbors back in michigan." sadie said calmly.

"and that's something you figured you wouldn't share with us?" emmy asked.

"it didn't seem super important." sadie shrugged her shoulders.

"it is super important!" kaili yelled.

"okay, one, calm down. two, we rarely even talk anymore." sadie told them.

"ugh, you're no fun. wait. they're gonna come to vancouver's we all should show them around." kaili smiled.

"i don't know about that." sadie said.

"it'll be fine. come on." emmy said.

"maybe. i'll text them."
