Inari's POV

"INARIIII!!" Gojo's obnoxiously loud voice rang across the training grounds.

Heads turned, people flinched, birds probably abandoned their nests, and I... I simply sighed, stretching my arms like I didn't hear the chaos incarnate calling my name.

"No," I said flatly, still mid-stretch, refusing to acknowledge whatever nonsense he was about to drag me into.

"I didn't even SAY anything!" Gojo gasped, clutching his chest.

"Why do you always bother her, Sensei?" Megumi muttered, annoyed.

"Yeah, Satoru, leave her alone for once!" Utahime huffed, arms crossed as she glared at him.

Gojo turned to me with his signature smirk. "But I NEED her for a mission!"

"Nope. Absolutely not. Kasumi, let's spar!" I announced, turning away attention.

"But you'll get PAID," Gojo wheedled, like a shady businessman.

"I'm not that broke!" I shot back, dodging Miwa's sword strike with ease.

"Okay, well... I AM!" Miwa cried, then promptly tripped over her own feet and crashed onto the ground. "Geh!"

I knocked her sword away with a flick of my foot. "You're losing focus."

Miwa sat up with a groan but then saw Gojo and immediately transformed into a starry-eyed fangirl. "But-but Gojo Satoru is RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!"

"Hey, want another picture?" Gojo offered, striking an exaggerated pose.

"YES, PLEASE!" Miwa squealed.

"No!" Utahime and I barked in unison, yanking Miwa away from him.

"DON'T STEAL MY KIDS!" Utahime scolded as she dragged Miwa off who was flailing and wailing the entire way.

"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" I finally snapped at Gojo, who was still grinning. "I want you to go on a mission," he said, his voice all sunshine and manipulation.

"No. I'm busy. The Exchange Event is next week!" I countered, standing my ground.

"You're not allowed to play anyway!" he exclaimed exaggerated.

"Still, I'd rather train with Maki and Aoi, thanks."

Then Gojo took a step closer—too close. His face was inches from mine, and suddenly I was very aware of how stupidly good-looking he was.

His lips curved into a knowing smirk, his blindfolded gaze locked onto me,

"You sure?" he whispered, his voice dripping with something that should be illegal.

OH MY GOD HE'S HOT.

"Hey—BACK OFF!" I yelped, shoving him away with enough force to break a normal man's ribs (but of course, he barely stumbled, the smug bastard).

Then he leaned in again, this time his lips brushing my ears. "It's with Yuuji."

My entire being short-circuited. "I...I'll go."

Gojo beamed like the devil he was. "Megumi, Nobara, I'll be borrowing your friend for a few days."

"I'll be back soon!" I reassured them quickly.

"You're sending her alone?" Maki asked suspiciously.

"Nope! I'm sending her with Nanami," Gojo replied breezily.

"Ohhh," Utahime drawled, mischievously. "Is this special treatment?"

"Of course not! Do you guys want to go?" Gojo turned to his students, but they all shook their heads and stepped back like he was offering them a cursed object with a live grenade attached to it.
