Inari's POV

A Few Days Later~~~~~

Inumaki was sprawled out on the ground, looking like he had just questioned his life choices, and I? I stared at my hands sighing heavily.

"This isn't working!" I threw my hands up, earning everyone's attention.

"What's wrong?" Maki asked, unfazed.
"I suck!" I exclaimed. "I don't feel like I've improved at all!"

"Really? I think you're doing just fine!" she reassured me, but I remained unconvinced.

"Isn't going to cut it! I need to get stronger!" I declared. "Which is why... I'm going to the demon realm."

"I thought that was a myth?!" Maki frowned.

"Most people think taxes are fake too, but here we are," I deadpanned. "I know a way in."

Kugisaki gasped. "That place is dangerous!"

"So is Satoru on a sugar rush, but we deal with that just fine." I ruffled Kugisaki's hair affectionately as she pouted.

"What exactly do you plan to do there?" Panda asked, arms crossed.

"There's a little event called the Dark Tournament..." I trailed off, watching their reactions. "I plan to join it."

"Bring me something cool," Fushiguro muttered, already treating my survival as a given.

"Weapons for me," Maki added.

"Oh-ka-ka!" Inumaki threw in his two cents, still face-down on the ground.

"WHY ARE YOU ALL SO CHILL ABOUT THIS?!" Kugisaki screeched.

Maki shrugged. "She's an Onmyouji. Her cursed energy works differently from ours."

"Even so... Inari-chan! Don't die!" Kugisaki clung to my arm, shaking me dramatically.

"I'll be fine, Nobara, don't worry."

With their well-wishes (and various shopping requests) in mind, I set off to inform Gojo and Principal Yaga of my little expedition. Because, you know, courtesy.

That evening, I sat down with them to lay out my master plan.

"Let me go to the demon realm."

"Okay—" Gojo started, predictably being his chaotic self.

"NO." Yaga cut in before the words fully left his mouth.

I blinked. "You honestly think I'm gonna listen to you?"

"I think you should at least pretend to," Yaga sighed, looking tired.

"Fine," I grinned, already mentally packing my bags.

"At least watch your back," Yaga relented. "And don't do anything reckless."

"Too late for that."

That night, as I finished my preparations, Gojo strolled into my room, hands in his pockets, wearing his usual grin. "Don't die."

"Oh, fuck off!" I shot back, smirking.

He laughed, ruffling my hair before sauntering off.

With one last deep breath, I was ready.

Next stop: Demon Realm. Let the absolute disaster begin.

Before leaving, however, I couldn't resist one last visit to Itadori.

The next day morning, armed with some snacks,  I made my way to the basement, ready to bid him farewell before embarking on my adventure.

"Yuuji... I'll be back in a week," I announced as I entered his underground room, only to be met with an immediate pout.
