Inari's POV

Itadori reawakened with a grave resolve, his eyes taking in the devastation Sukuna had wrought upon Shibuya.

"We should hurry up, Yuuji..." I urged, glancing at him as we descended the stairs. It seemed as if he was recalling something, his expression tinged with determination and sorrow.

"Yuuji, wait!!" I stopped him, grabbing his shoulder as he looked at me, confused. "Inari--" "Shh," I cut him off, motioning for him to listen. "I hear something."

The commotion of a battle drew our attention, and we ran down the hallway towards the source of the noise.

"What the fuck are these?!" Upon descending the stairs, we came face to face with a swarm of transfigured humans, the same ones I had encountered in the basement below.

"Nanamin..." Itadori's voice broke as he looked at the blonde sorcerer.

Nanamin continued to fight, fiercely slicing through the transfigured humans with his blunt sword. Despite being battered by the onslaught, he persisted, eventually cutting down the entire horde by himself.

"You're here?" Nanamin sensed a familiar hand touching his back and realized that it was Mahito, the realization sparking apprehension within him.

"I've been here. The whole time. Shall we chat for a bit? You and I have gone at it a few times, after all," the curse remarked, addressing Nanami amused as he inquired if the sorcerer had any last words.

Meanwhile, we arrived at the floor where the two were and watched from behind.

"Nanamin.....?" Itadori muttered, and I looked at my clenched palms, bracing for what was to come.

'20% huh...? Let's see how long I last,'

"Oh, you're here too..." Mahito glanced back, noticing me and Itadori, his amusement increasing as the young sorcerer stumbled towards them.

"Itadori-kun. I'll leave the rest to you..." Nanami said, smiling at his protégé as he entrusted Itadori with the task of exorcising Mahito. "I'm glad Inari-San's next to you...."

"What—?" I exclaimed in surprise, taken aback by what the curse did next.

"What the hell..." Mahito's actions were swift and brutal as he promptly killed Nanami, exploding the top half of his body into bloody pieces, shocking Yuji to the core.

"What the hell are you, Mahito?!" Enraged in the next moment, Itadori screamed at Mahito, his emotions boiling over as he rushed forward to confront the cursed spirit in a fierce battle.

"You don't have to shout! I can hear you, Itadori Yuuji!" Mahito's voice rang out, as he mocked his adversary.

He reassured Yuji that he could hear just fine without the yelling, preparing for their fated rematch with a sense of calm confidence.

With a flick of his hand, Mahito casually transformed a small transfigured human into a wall that blocked Itadori's path, further demonstrating his control over his cursed techniques.

"Save me! Save me!" The wall begged for help, making Itadori stop himself from punching it, struggling against the emotional manipulation.

"Move!!" I exclaimed, palming the wall and blasting it with my cursed energy in an attempt to break through.

"Fuck!!" Spikes suddenly protruded from the wall, aiming to stab us both. I quickly backed away, while Itadori endured the spikes before breaking them apart with sheer force.

"Soul Multiplicity!" Mahito unleashed his cursed technique, creating multiple manifestations of himself.

With a follow-up move of Body Repel, he conjured a long transfigured monster that burst through the wall, aiming to bite Itadori with its giant mouth.
