"Soulmates"

I admired you from afar,
as you shone so bright like a star
in a crowded room
and I watched you bloom,
into the girl you wished to be.

You took up the shape of the key
to my heart, believing that nothing
could keep us apart.

I showed you the poems I wrote,
without knowing they were all
meant for you.

You were the glue that
kept my heart whole.
And whenever I was sad,
you were always there to console

I tried so hard to avoid,
those eyes that were
as dark as coal.
And those fingers that fits so well
against my own

I wish I could make my feelings known,
as I can't bare to see you
look at me as an ally.
For my feelings are anything,
but platonic.
