would I be punished
for loving you?
would the gods of fate
and heavens above
condemn me for feelings so true?
should my heart be chained,
my love be slain
Because it dared
to reach for you?
Or is it better
to have loved in vain
Than to hide
from love's brilliant hue?
For though love
may bring pain and strife,
It is the sweetest
of life's treasures.
And in your arms,
I find my life
filled with joy
beyond all measures.
so let the world
say what it will,
I will love you,
I always will.
