Chap 13

Meisi (PoV)

Katahimikan kaagad ang namayani nang makapasok ako sa classroom. I look around matapos kong malagay ang mga gamit sa table. I spot Ms. Monverde in her chair at nakayuko lang ito.

It's been a week nang tuluyan na nga nya akong nilayuan which is a good thing, but somehow.. I... I missed the feeling of being--

I shook my head tryin' to shake this thoughts off.

Damn, ano ba iniisip ko?!

Nagsimula na akong magturo at tahimik lang naman ang lahat na nakikinig including Calliopi. I called her name to answer my question on the board and she just straightly obey without even glancing at me. She does that everytime I call her to answer on the board or when I'm calling her names during the recitation. I notice also that she's getting better to my subject. I guess nakatulong talaga sa kanya yung punishment ko.

After the class, I fixed my things to get ready to go but then..

"Tulungan na kita ma'am."

Natigilan ako at dahan dahan na humarap sa taong nagsalita.

Bakit parang nadismaya na naman ako na hindi si...

"Ma'am?"

Napakurap ako at pinilig ng kunti ang ulo.

"Ah, yes, thank you."

Ibinigay ko kay Mr. Arjente ang laptop habang dala ko naman ang bag ko.

Once we leave the room, nakita ko kaagad ang ilan sa mga lalaking studyante ko na friends ni Mr. Arjente and I guess they're waiting for us to come out just to tease Mr. Arjente and me.

I sighed.

Heto na nga ba sinasabi ko.

"Alam nyo ma'am.. matagal ko ng gustong alalayan kayo sa tuwing nakikita ko kayo na may dalang gamit, kaso.. nauunahan ako palagi ni Monverde. Hah, parang gusto yatang makaisa yun sayo ma'am eh. Alam nyo na, may pagkatibo yun hahahahah"

Natigilan ako sa paglalakad at humarap sa kanya na nakataas ang kilay.

"What do you mean?"

"Ah--"

"I wanna ask you something.." nilapitan ko ito ng mas malapit at tiningnan sya ng seryoso.

"This past few days--ah no, everytime Ms. Monverde did not able to help me carrying my things, you're the one who always there to also help me, you even tryin' to talk to me, and just this past few days.. palagi mo na akong sinusundo mismo sa office ko. Are you also tryin' to hit on me, kid?"

Para namang nagpanic ang itsura nito.

"Ah-ah.. h-hindi naman po m-ma'am." He stutter and I just roll my eyes then continued to walk.

"Just put it in my table then leave." I said not looking at him and put my pouch and one book at my table.

"S-sige po ma'am.."

"And please.." I look at him with my serious face.

"I don't need any help from you, nor from your colleagues anymore so stop insisting to carry my things like as if I can't handle it by myself."

Tumango naman ito. "O-ok po ma'am, a-alis na po ako." Yumuko ito ng kunti bago lumabas.

I sighed.

Atleast nabawasan na naman ako ng student na nagta-try na makuha ang loob ko.

In my 3 years of being in this University, I have met several students na ganun ang pakikitungo. At first they will try to be nice and friendly to you, but no, ganyan pala ang istilo nila sa pakikipag flirt. Hindi ako at NEVER akong papatol sa mga students ko kaya naman, naiinis talaga ako sa mga lalaking students na ganun sakin. So if na sense ko na may ibang pinaparating yung actions nila  sakin, I'll immidiately cut them off and confront them then pinapatigil sila sa ginagawa nila. Sabihin man nating friendly lang yung iba sa kanila, but no, I wouldn't buy that kind of statement.
