I glance one last time at myself in the mirror in my room to make sure there's nothing wrong with how I look.

Today is the gala where he's meant to introduce me as his fiancé, to say I'm scared shitless is an understatement.

I still don't even have a ring yet, so he must be improvising this evening. I just have to stand there looking all pretty.

Since my hair was already wavy, I didn't want to change anything so I just pulled it into a low bun with a flower clip securing it at the base. My makeup looked very simple, including a close to nude but more towards a pink coloured lipstick.

It was a body mirror so I could see my dress and my figure.

Doesn't look too bad right?

I tried sucking in my stomach to see any difference, but remembered that I'm trying to get past that. I've embraced how I look. I look hot.

I smile at my appearance, then go to my table to look for a necklace to pair with my dangling silver earrings.

Just as I take one out of my mother's jewellery box, I hear someone knocking at the door then entering.

I only know one person who would do that.

I turn my face to look at him with my necklace still in hand and soak in what he's wearing. His black suit with the silver tie compliments my look beautifully, his watch sits nicely on his wrist as he freezes in the doorway to look me up and down. His hair, usually slicked back, is now quite wavy and a little wet which is probably from the gel. As well as a few strands escaping and falling onto his forehead.

Well if he doesn't look absolutely ethereal right now then I don't know what he is.

After a long period of staring at each other, he finally begins making his way to me.

"You clean up nice, Rivera."

I look at him in astonishment at the compliment but gladly take it, grinning. "You don't look too bad yourself Russo." I reply back.

That's so not like him to give me a casual compliment.

He nods as if agreeing with me and eyes my necklace. "Waiting for me to put it on for you?"

And, he's back.

I scoff, "I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm not one to be needing your assistance in everything I do, thank you very much."

How dare he assume that?

"Alright." He says and sits on the edge of my bed.

"Seriously?" I say, then roll my eyes ignoring him while trying to put the necklace on.
