"giving someone a second chance is like reading a book twice, you know how it ends."

I snap my head back to Vittorio, who stands behind me absolutely frozen.

His jaw is clenched.

Damn, he looks mad. Who is that and what did she do to him?

I turn back around and face the woman in front of me.

"Can I help you with something?" I say, as polite as possible.

She completely ignores me, shoving me to the side and walks past.

Um, bitch.

"Darling! How lovely it is to see you again." She says, with a sickening smile and the fakest high-pitched voice I've ever heard.

The woman goes to grab Vittorio by his arms but he quickly holds her back. "Arabella?" He stands in complete shock, not moving from his spot.

What's wrong with him?

Medusa over there probably froze him with her look.

She nods with a cheshire smile plastered on her face, "Oh Vittorio, my love, how I've missed you and our baby." She pouts.

Wait, what?

She's the mother of his kid?

Vittorio steps away from her. "She's not your child. You got rid of that right the second you left her on my doorstep and walked out."

Oh, shit is going down.

He goes round her to open the front door, "Arabella, if you don't go out this door this second I'm not hesitating calling the cops on you for trespassing." He balls his fist next to him, impatiently waiting for her to leave.

Arabella sighs, "Only this once, I'll be back." She says, slowly making her way to the door. She stops for a second, looking directly at me.

"Who are you, his maid?" She asked, squinting her eyes and looking at me with a dirty look.

This woman was about to get slapped.

I roll my eyes at her pathetic attempt of an insult. "No, I'm his personal stripper. Now don't let the door hit you on the way out. Or do. Either way we couldn't care less." I smiled at her.

She looks at me with an angry expression, then storms out the door like a child. Vittorio slams it shut behind her.

I turn to him, scared to say anything in case he snaps at me or something.

Instead, he just turns around to face me. "Should we get going?" He asked.

I nod, grabbing my bag and opening the door, Vittorio close behind.
