Chapter Three: Promises, Promises
"Isa sa'yo at isa sa'kin, o baka naman gusto mo yung Doritos?"
I couldn't help but smile from his expression. I'm not a huge of chips but that doesn't mean I can't handle it.
I didn't like Takis but I liked Doritos, it's not as bad and it's just right for me.
Takis is salty than spicy in my opinion. I tried Cheetos too but Cheetos is also salty than spicy, although I think Karine would beg to differ.
"I like Doritos." bulong ko sa kanya.
Tumango naman siya at hinablot ang malaking bag ng pula na Doritos at pati na rin yung Takis.
It's one of those days where we're meeting up as friends and our parents are busy meeting up as business partners.
Nasa Walmart kami ngayon. His mother drove us here from their place and I was more than willing to come just 'cause I am hungry.
And because... of Felix.
Pinilit niya kasi ako.
He said it'd be fun to come because we will eat at his bedroom later on. Medyo kinabahan ako sa sinabi niya na kakain kami sa bedroom niya.
We're teenagers. We're hitting puberty, and besides our parents might think something is going on between me and him. It's not like I care but it wouldn't hurt to be careful, right?
"Masarap naman yung Doritos, iba lang talaga yung Takis eh."
"You need to be careful."
"Bakit? Nag-aalala ka ba? Hm? Awe~." sabi niya sabay akbay sakin at bigla niya rin akong niyakap pagkatapos.
I was caught off guard again.
Everything he does at this point just catches me off guard. Even from the beginning, when we first met, he was lying down on the snow. Then he got upset because I interrupted his sweet time with the snow.
It was funny.
Natawa ako bigla, inalis niya ang pagkakayakap niya sa'kin at tiningnan ako ng masama.
"Bakit ka natatawa?"
"Wala... wala lang... I was thinking of something."
"Something? Ano naman? Iniisip mo crush mo 'no?" asar niya bigla.
Crush? Wala naman akong crush. I never really thought about it. I found some boys my age or some celebrities or businessmen to be admirable or creative or nice, but not really to the point that I have a crush on them.
Oo.
Nagagwapuhan din naman ako sa mga lalaki kung gwapo talaga pero I've never seen them that way.
I've never really found the one yet.
Huh, if only Karine could hear my thoughts right now, she's going to make fun of me.
Noel would find it funny because I've never really thought about it that way.
"Wala akong crush, Felix."
"Right, as if."
"I'm being honest here, 'Lix."
He smiled and continued to walk and I just followed him.
