Chapter Twenty Four: Can't Let You Go
"Ba't ba ang ganda mo, ha?"
Nagulat ako sa tanong ni Felix pagpasok niya sa loob ng opisina ko. I was just about to finish checking some papers that Karine gave to me for her wedding before I go with Felix to our date.
Grabe, grabe ang porma niya ngayong araw, his outfit is casual but of course he always looks good in whatever he wears, he makes the whole fit expensive as fuck.
"Don't worry... take your time, kaya kong maghintay sa'yo." bola niya.
Lumapit siya sa'kin at hinalikan ang likod ng kamay ko at pati na rin ang noo ko.
"I missed you."
"We ate dinner last night, 'Lix." tawa ko.
"I know... but I love you... so..." tawa niya rin at nagiwan ulet ng halik sa noo ko bago niya 'ko hinila patayo at tinapon ang lapis mula sa kamay ko.
"Are you done yet? Please tell me you're done." nguso niya, placing his hands on my waist with our faces only an inch away from each other.
"Isang papel na lang, okay? My sister wants me to check the venue for her and her wedding."
"Wedding? Ni Karine?"
"Yes, Geneva's wedding is days from now, it's only time for us to prepare for Karine's wedding." I explain.
"Show me the paper." bulong niya.
I sighed and picked up the paper full of venue options for her wedding.
Meron sa Italy, meron din sa Hawai'i pero sabi niya gusto niyang magbakasyon doon, she also said Norvina is a good place for her wedding too, makakatulong din si Norvina na nakatira doon.
Pinakita ko sa kanya yung papel.
"Hm, dami namang options."
"Yup."
"Eh pag ikaw? Anong gusto mo?"
"It doesn't matter what I want, kasal 'to ni Karine 'di sa'kin."
Karine likes to travel, she didn't have time to do it herself because of her schedule and her new responsibilities.
Ngayon na ikakasal na si Aster at ikakasal na rin siya, it would be a good opportunity for her to travel with her fiancé during their wedding and honeymoon.
"What about you? Ikaw ang tanong ko, hindi siya..." ulit niya sabay yakap sa'kin nang mahigpit at hinalikan ang balikat ko.
"Me? What? My own wedding?"
I never thought about it.
I mean yes, nung bata siguro napasok sa kokote ko na balang araw ikakasal din ako, I wanted a marriage just like our parents because I thought it was wonderful, that it was beautiful.
Gano'n din naman ang naramdaman ng mga kapatid ko.
Karine firmly believes in love but she was just more focused now in the business of our family, but... while finding the right partner to expand the family's venture internationally, she found the man who loves her.
Mahal niya naman din si Avelino, mahal nila yung isa't-isa.
"Yes."
"Bakit?"
