Rain pattered against the forest ground,making the once neat land muddy. Everyone spread out for taking shade as the brides-to-be were escorted back to their palanquins.
"Your Highness we must-"
"It's Raining....-Its raining!" I jumped in the puddle,splashing it.
I escaped this goddamn marriage!

"Cato" came a stern voice.
My mother stood tall,her neat eyebrows knitted in anger.
The suit she selected for me was now nothing but patterns of mud.
The rain washed over the heavy silence. No one is ready to speak nor blink.
My heart was thumping with the sudden excitement of escaping a giant
mess,but i know the aftermath is going to be messy.
She took two steps towards me,making my heart drop to stomach.
*Plop*

She's going to leave just like that?

I ruffled my hair with her shawl that she dropped on my head.
"Someone has god's luck " Juniper smirked slightly.
"You carried a parasol today?" You would have never known that it will rain today though.
"I always carry one,for any sudden cases " she gave me a silly look.
"Where is my sister?"
"Then what am I brother dearest " she batted her eyes rapidly.
"I mean where is Nikita?"
"Someone didn't have a basic sense to carry a parasol." She held her parasol above my head.
"I mean it's a common etiquette"
"That means you are caliming that you're the only one with etiquette knowledge " I glanced around to see no one had parasol.
"I didn't say that and I am doing you a favour by saving your face"
"I'm already soaked,it won't make a difference.. and you seem to show off by helping me am i wrong?"
"I am stupid to help you"
"Finally something we both agree"
"Don't act so smug, you will get married soon, I'm just preventing you from catching cold or fever. We don't want to delay your marriage do we?"

"I prefer cunning"
"I thought you are on my side!"
"Oh i already helped you by eliminating the one you don't wish to marry from the selection and remember you owe me big"
"But I also asked for your support in the same letter"
"I can't decide now anything. I'm already in deep water because I eliminated Duke Sheldon's daughter! It was too risky!" She started taking few steps, still holding the parasol above my head.
I took the parasol in my hand. "You're short"
"There's a reason that giraffes aren't the king of the jungle "
"You sure have a way around your words"
"I know"
There prevailed a silence as the only sound was our steps against the muddy ground.
"I am curious about something "
She asked cautiously.
" You can ask"
"Why did you want Duke Sheldon's daughter out so bad?"
"I just don't like her" I replied in a casual manner.
I can't say her that she's too smart and dangerous. I also have a doubt that she may be the villainess or heroine or final boss or something like that.
Juniper looked at me with an unconvinced look.
"Did you think I'm Nikita to believe whatever you say"
"Hey now don't drag her into this she is one of a kind"
"You only favour her" she mumbled.
"What did you say?"
"Then why don't you ask for her help? Why me? Isn't she the one who wrote you a letter?"
She chuckled.
"Poor girl was so worried when she didn't get a reply. And I'm the one who got your letter, asking for help "
"I-"
"You don't have to answer that. I did what you asked for...this is not the first time I'm just used for others sake.." she closed her parasol.
"You can sure go from here, your Highness"
"Juniper!"
She didn't reply. She silently entered her palanquin.
I felt her pain for the first time. She's always strong and Majestic. Like a sun everyone looked upon. But today I understood that even the sun has it's phase of solar eclipse.
It made me forget my current worrisome situation. I should have treated her better...
"Your Highness we must depart "
"I think I forgot something "
"Indeed your Highness" a low voice replied
"Lady Sheldon"
"May I have a moment of your time?"
