Chapter 5: "Vinnae. Vinnae did this."

"....Who said that?!" Lara, a friend of Vinny's shouted in dismay.

Not even a second later, screams filled the room in a bone-chilling tone. Everyone stood silent, dead silent. The tense moment lasted only seconds, yet it felt like years to the unsuspecting guests and victims. The lights flickered on a couple seconds after, revealing lifeless bodies of friends who had so much life ahead of them...yet it was cut short.

"JOHN!! OH MY GOD.." Alec wailed in disbelief. He was shattered to see his dear friend impaled with a cake knife. Lying on the bloodstained floor beside Alec's feet.

"...Annie..." Lara whispered. Annie had been hung to the ceiling with party streamers. A truly devastating scene indeed.. I guess you could say...we left her hanging. Sorry, sorry. I know dark humor isn't needed right now.

"This is just too much.." Lukey whimpered, covering his face.

"I....I know who did this.." Vinny stuttered.

"Who? How could you possibly know someone who would MURDER PEOPLE!!! And then INVITE THEM TO YOUR PARTY!!!!" Lukey yelled in anger.

"MY SISTER." Vinny protested.

"....What.."

"Vinnae. Vinnae did this."

"How do you know.."

"They said something to Charlie...last night."

"What did they say."

"That they were going to kill him.."

"I don't understand you, Vinny. You didn't tell anyone. For our safety you should've shut this down."

"I know...and I'm sorry.. I didn't think they would kill anybody.. I thought it was just to scare Charlie."

"I'm calling the police. There's no way I'm letting you and your psychopath sister get away with this." Lukey pulled out his phone. To his surprise, because again...nobody else would be surprised to know there's no service. "Goddamit. Vinny, what kind of JOKE do you think this is?!"

"NO JOKE. I'M REALLY SORRY AND SCARED, OKAY? I DIDN'T THINK MY SISTER WOULD DO THIS..."

"I used to be a detective..." Austin stood up and smiled.

"And you're just saying this now?" Lukey frowned.

"I know the timing is off, but where is Vinnae? I need to ask them some questions." Austin stared at Vinny, hoping for answers.

"I don't know..they ran off somewhere last night."

"THEY'RE RIGHT HERE!!!" Lara pointed at Vinnae, hiding behind the plant, pretending to be scared. What a talented little actor..and liar.

"Come with me, Vinnae." Austin waved his finger, indicating for Vinnae to follow."

"O....okay.." Vinnae mumbled. They sound like they're about to cry!! Poor Vinnae. Or not.

"So I understand that you're at blame for the moment."

"I am?"

"Yes..?"

"Why?"

"Do you recall talking to Charlie last night?"

"Yes."

"What did you say?"

"I said I don't want to be his friend, and I'll never talk to him again if I don't have to. Listen, we have some....baggage." That is true, at least they're telling the truth!

"I see, and do you have any desire to kill Charlie or anyone here?"

"God, no!! Why would I ever do that? That's awful.."

"Well according to Vinny, you told Charlie you were going to kill him."

"I never said that...Charlie lied to Vinny.. in fact, he said that to me! I was terrified of the threat, so I hid behind the plant the rest of the night... Then the lights went out... And I heard the screams and I thought to myself... 'This is really happening.. Charlie is a murderer!!' I felt like if I stepped out from behind the plant to help, I would be killed too.." Vinnae wiped a tear from their eyes. They sniffed and cried. Jeez! Why is everyone here lying? So much for telling the truth..
