F L I C K E R: Unsolved Case

Chapter 12: Rosy.

          "DON'T TALK TO THEM LIKE THAT." Elizabeth shoved Charlie away from Vinnae. They walked them over to the couch and sat them down. They couldn't resist anymore. They screamed and sobbed like a baby. It actually scared Elizabeth to see them cry so hard.

     Charlie ran to Vinny inside the bedroom in a panic. "Vinny? What's wrong? What did they say to you...?!" Charlie hugged them and closed the door.

     "What's going on?.." Lukey crossed their arms. They watched Vinnae helplessly sob in Elizabeth's arms. They turned to Austin, hoping he'd know anything about this. To anyone's shock- which I'm sure all of you know..He knew nothing.

     "Maybe we should give them some space." Austin backed up and stepped into the hall. Lukey followed him, seeing as there was no other option.

     "Well..?" Charlie frowned and sat Vinny on the bed with him.

     "It's my fault-.." Vinny sniffled and bit their lip.

     "It's not your fault."

     "Yes it is," Vinny turned away. "I told them that they slept with our dad. I know damn well our dad-...well.. He did really bad things to them growing up."

     "Vinny..just stop."

     "..What..?"

     "I know that you want to take the blame for everyone, I love that sympathetic part about you..but it's not your fault. Vinnae killed your best friend and you lashed out. You know you didn't mean to say those things. They shouldn't have killed Alec! It's their fault," Charlie cuddled Vinny. He took off his jacket and wrapped it around them.

     "I don't need this."

     "Yes you do.."

     "No, seriously.. You look like a farmer without it. I can't date a fucking plain plaid wearing dork." Vinny chuckled a little through their tears. They smiled warmly and kissed his cheek.

     "Oh, so I'm a dork now?" Charlie stuck out his tongue in a joking manner.  Ah, Vinny's interpretation of the world is so rosy.. A romance writer's favorite way to interpret the world. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Back to Vinnae and Elizabeth!

     "Love..-" Elizabeth started, but she was interrupted by Vinnae crying. Damn! I've never seen them cry so much. Well.. I have. But you'll have to read the original.

     "Why would they say that?! I've never said anything like that to Vinny! I even helped them get ready for their dates! I gave them a pep talk about having sex with Charlie!" Vinnae wailed.

     "I believe we're going a little off topic here-.." Jeez, they never let her finish, do they?

     "It's not okay to say that to me!! He caused me so much pain..so much trauma!! It's not fair.-"

     "DARLING," Elizabeth cupped Vinnae's face and placed her finger on their lips, kindly shushing them. She stared directly into their eyes and stroked her fingers through their hair. "Everything is going to be okay.. I'm sure Vinny didn't mean to say that. They're probably just mad.." God, I love her british accent..wait. You didn't know she's british? Of course she is!

     "Mad at me? I don't understand what I even did! They just told me to follow them and I did and they started yelling at me..then they said that," their breaths trembled. Their body shivered, perhaps it was because of how tense they were with anxiety and the cursed memories of their dad or because they were cold. I'm going to go with both. More on the first option.

     Elizabeth drew them in closer and pressed her lips against theirs. She wrapped her arms around them, warming them up. She wiped the warm tears off their face.

     "You'll be okay. Just breathe, love." Seriously, why does everyone say that? Do deep breaths even help anyone? They dont help me. I think things are pretty wrapped up here. See what I did there? Yeah. Let's check on Austin and Lukey!
