"Uzon ready ka na?" I heard Brian asked.
"Almost" I answered as i finished putting on my red lip stick.
Days have passed and it's now the annual gala. To be honest kung hindi ako pinilit nila Brian hindi talaga ako pupunta. Parties are not my thing. I'd rather be at my house working.
"Naghihintay na si Caitlyn bilisan mo" Pagmamadali nito.
"I'm done" Tipid kong saad at sabay na lumabas kasama niya papuntang gymnasium.
Dito na kami nag ayos sa faculty because it's difficult to walk in heels outside campus.
"You all look stunning!" Saad ni Bree nung nakita niya kami.
"Likewise sis" I said with a smile.
Umupo na kami sa reserved seats namin at naghintay na makarating yung ibang teachers and students.
"Aya we're here!" Rinig kong sigaw ni Brian.
I averted my gaze and saw Antaneia walking towards us.
I still feel intimidated by her but I'm hanging on.
"Hello everyone! Padating na ang special guest natin kaya mag s-start na tayo in a few minutes" Sambit nito atsaka nagpaalam kase i c-check niya pa daw kung okay na lahat.
I must admit. Ang ganda ng pag ka design niya ng gymnasium.
It looks like a ball room than a gym. I awed as i saw how the light switches into different colors.
"I think it's starting" Rinig kong bulong ni Caitlyn.
"Good Evening ladies and gentlemen! Tonight we will be celebrating our school's 57th anniversary" Hayag ng emcee which is Mr. Gallego.
"Tonight we will be having a very special guest. She is an outstanding painter, one if the best. She has turned down every invitation our school sent her, but we got lucky because she finally accepted this year's invite. Can we please welcome Miss Ylliana Eugene Funtamuerte!" My world stopped.
I saw the double door opened and there i saw her. The face I've been longing to see for almost a decade.
"Gene...." I quietly uttered.
I looked beside her and noticed that she was with a guy. They're smiling at each other while holding hands?
Is he her boyfriend? Worse....her husband? I can feel my chest tighten but i felt two hands holding mine.
I averted my gaze and saw Brian and Caitlyn shooting me a comforting look.
That, i smiled.
Papalapit siya ng papalapit as her eyes studied the audience.
Suddenly, our eyes met.
I smiled at her but she just averted her gaze ones more. It hurt me.
I bit my lip and lowered my head as they pass through our table.
I can feel their hands tighting it's wrap on mine.
"It's okay/You're fine" Saad nilang dalawa trying to cheer me up.
I thanked them and composed myself.
I'm going to talk to her later. I'll explain what happened. Even though she has someone atleast she should hear me out for closure.

Hours had past. Nandito lang kami nakaupo habang nag ki-kwentuhan. Panay silip ako sa table nila Gene.
She's not socializing. She's also not as hyped as before. She doesn't smile and when she does it doesn't reach her eyes. She looks so dull.
