Max x female fluff (kinda)

Summary: during the school year of season 4, you were the new kid in Hawkins, or that's what everyone thought you were, but the truth was, your parents had sent you away after other parents told them that they had caught you kissing a girl named Maxine Mayfield, all they heard from the conversation was "kissing" and "girl", let's just say your parents weren't fond of it.

a/n i'm thinking about turning this chapter into a book, so if you guys enjoy this chapter please let me know, i'll make it into one. also, there isn't much max fluff in this, it's kinda just giving a bit of what i was thinking about writing for the book. i don't think this is going to be the first chapter, it might be the second or third.

"Okay so this is your locker, your combination is on the schedule." Chrissy, the girl who was touring the school for you, handed you the schedule and smiled, "if you need anything, just ask someone in your class or I'm here after school, I'm the cheer captain."

You nodded and stood awkwardly facing her, gripping the straps of your backpack, "thanks."

She smiles and rocked back and forth on her heels, "No problem! Oh! Gotta go! Bell's about to ring for lunch! Have a good day, y/n!" she waves and runs down the hall.

You sigh and put your combination in for your locker, opening it. You open your backpack and put in your books that you wouldn't be needing for the day, then closed it and put your backpack back on. Then the bell rung for lunch.

You walked down the crowded hallway and put on your walkman, playing Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nick's voice blasted in your ears as you walked into the cafeteria, clicks bustled into tables and you could tell which was which. You walked down the cafeteria, sitting down at an empty table and taking out your brown lunch bag.

You unpacked your peanut butter and jelly sandwich, unwrapping the sandwich out of the plastic it was in and took a bite, looking around the cafeteria at the smiles and laughs that were on the teenagers faces. A couple boys sat in front of you, you made eye contact with them but continued eating with them. A smile on their faces and motioned for you to take your headphones off. You complied.

"Hi." one of them spoke, wearing a hat and his hair curly.

"Hi?" you replied, wrapping your headphones around your neck and putting your sandwich down.

"I'm Dustin." he pointed to himself and turned to the boy beside him, his hair black and wavy.

He smiled, "I'm Mike."

You nodded and smirked, awkward silence began to consume the 3 of you, "oh, right. I'm y/n."

"Cool, cool. Are you new?" Dustin asked.

You laughed dryly and looked down, "I guess you could say that." you said under your breath.

"What?" Mike questioned.
