Chapter 41

Hours Later:

After hours of scrubbing and cleaning the cave, MK was finally done and was now exhausted "finish" the teen said and collapse on the ground passing out, Hiro saw this and chirps at the teen gently nudging the teen in worry, the little monkey heard footsteps and turns to see Monkey King walking up to them "kid really worn himself out, huh Hiro" Monkey King said kneeling down to pick up the teen, as he placed his hands on the teens back MK yelped in his sleep making the king reel back from shock "huh?" Monkey King said confused. He then noticed a strange mark poking from under the teens shirt, slowly pulled the shirt up and gasped in shock, the mark was actually a large ugly bruise, along with small cuts, he pulls the shirt up further to reveal more bruises and cuts on MKs back "oh kid" Monkey King whispered. He picked up the teen more gently to not cause anymore harm and quickly headed back to his cottage, when he enters his cottage he gently placed the teen onto the couch and took off MKs shirt revealing more bruises and cuts on the teens chest especially where MK was held down by the staff, he used his golden eyes to discover that MK has three bruised ribs

"Kai you bastard" Monkey King whispered clenching his fist trying his very best not to snarl, he was snapped out of it by a small chirp and a tug on his leg, he looks down and saw little Hiro looking up at him in worry, he calms down and gently petted the young monkey "it's okay Hiro, he'll be alright" Monkey King said giving his youngest subject a gentle smile, he then turned back towards MK and went to get the first aid kit "where did I put the damn thing?" Monkey King said looking through the bathroom sink cupboard "here it is" Monkey King said pulling out the first aid kit, he heads back to the living room and began patching up the teen. Soon Monkey King finished patching the teen up "done" Monkey King said closing the first aid kit, he the looks at the sleeping teen and Hiro who fell asleep next to the teen "sleep tight kiddo" Monkey King said pulling a blanket over the two and headed outside. As he walks through his grotto he couldn't help but let his mind wonder about the events from earlier 'why is he back, HOW is he back, the Shadow Realm is basically impossible to escape and only Buddha can take anyone out of there, so how the hell did that bastard got out of there!' Monkey King thought clenching his hands his tail swishing behind him angrily

He looks up and saw that he was now standing in front of a mural that was covered by a curtain of purple flower vines, he reached out and pulled the vines away revealing a mural of him and Macaque on their wedding day, their heads gently pressed together as they smiled at each other, their friends were there too smiling happily, Monkey King smiled sadly at the happy memories 'oh Mangoes...if only I knew why you left' he thought trying to remember what he did wrong in their relationship, but there was a big gap in his memory that would always give him a headache when he tries to remember, he groans as he clutches his head feeling the headache coming back "why can't I remember?" Monkey King said gritting his teeth so tight that they could break at any second "ya know, it's hilarious how sad you look right now" a voice said from behind the simian king making Monkey King freeze up "YOU!!" Monkey King said turning around to see Kai standing right behind him. He raised his fist and charges at the cursed Immortal but Kai jumped back and Monkey King's fist slams down to the cave floor cracking it " You got some nerve showing your face here after what you did to MK!" Monkey King said glaring at Kai as he pulled his fist out of the mini crater cracking his knuckles "aww, don't be like that Monkey King, we both know this was overdue" Kai said lazily shrugging his shoulders "though I gotta say, this place sure did change a lot from the last time I was here, which was like what, nine, ten, twenty thousand years ago?" Kai said casually looking around the cave "not long Enough!" Monkey King said kicking the cursed Immortal but Kai dodges it and blends in with the shadows laughing

"you know out of all the murals you let the kid smash up, this was the one you're keeping" Kai said snaking up the mural right next to Macaque while Monkey King glares at the shadow "kind of thought that you would've smashed this one years ago after what you did to him" Kai said tracing his finger around Macaque. Monkey King looked at the shadow confused "what?" The simian king said confused, the shadow of Kai looked at him and laughed "you don't remember, after what, 500 years and you still haven't remember what you done!" Kai said laughing "but then again, memory loss is a side effect of the spell I put on you" Kai said shrugging his shoulders. Now Monkey King was more confused than ever "spell, what are you talking about, what did you do to me?!" Monkey King said glaring at the shadow, Kai smirked and charges at Monkey King with a open palm catching the king off guard and slamming his hand onto Monkey King's head "let me freshen your memory Sun Wukong" Kai said and Monkey King's eyes widened as the gap from his memory 500 years ago filled up

"Stop please!"

"It Hurts!"

"I'm sorry!"

"LISTEN PLEASE!!!"

"My fault...my fault"

"P-pe-Peaches....p-please"

"ARGHHHHHH!!!!"

Monkey King gasped as the memories came flooding back to him making him take a step back as he clutch his head breathing heavily, Kai laughs at the shocked expression on the copper simians face "you should see the look on your face...priceless!" Kai said laughing, Monkey King looks up at the cursed Immortal and his glare harden even more "You" he said charging towards the cursed Immortal, but Kai falls through the shadows his laughter echoing around the cave walls. Monkey King snarls and slams his fists down on the cavern floors breathing heavily, he looks down at his hands that were shaking, his mind flash and his paws were covered in blood with Macaque staring up at him in fear, blood and tears running down his face, Monkey King gasped and saw that he was back in the cavern alone his eyes widened "oh...oh gods" Monkey King said covering his mouth tears filling his eyes "gods what have I done" Monkey King said a single tear falling down his face

The next morning

MK woke up to the morning sun "wha?" MK said blinking the sleep from his eyes, he slowly sits up and saw that he was in Monkey King's cottage "I must've fell asleep" MK said, he looks down and saw his chest wrapped in bandages, he gently touched the bandages and turned to see little Hiro still asleep on the armrest, he then heard a chirp and turns to see another monkey holding out a bowl of fruit to the teen "oh, thank you" MK said taking the fruit bowl and began eating his breakfast. When he finished he placed the bowl in the sink, put his shirt on, and heads outside, as he tied his jacket around his waist he walks through the cavern and spotted Monkey King on the ground on his knees staring at the floor, the teen looked up and saw a mural of Monkey King and his Ma together both smiling happily 'huh, what is ma doing in one of Monkey King's murals?' MK thought staring at the mural then back to the simian King "Monkey King" MK said, Monkey King's head shot up and turns around to see his successor standing right behind him "kid, what are you doing up?" Monkey King said quickly standing up smiling "you know you shouldn't be moving around too much, your still healing" Monkey King said smiling

MK looked at his mentor then back to the mural "who's that?" MK asked pointing to the mural, Monkey King looked at the mural his eyes widened a little "I've never heard of him in Baba's stories" MK asked wondering if Monkey King knew his Ma. Monkey King looked down at the ground then back to the mural "he was....the love of my life" Monkey King said smiling sadly "when I first met him, I was completely a nervous wreck, I tried to impress him only to end up making a fool out of myself....but in the end, I made him laugh and we became friends" Monkey King said smiling at the memories "as time went by we soon became lovers, later on I asked him if I could court him and he said yes...and soon we were married.....it was the most happiest day of my life" Monkey King said smiling "so...what happened?" MK asked. Monkey King frowns "Kai....done something to me, forcing me to hurt my Mangoes and when the spell broke....he was gone" Monkey King said hugging his arms "I swore to him that I would never hurt him and I broke it,  Mangoes is gone........and it's all my fault" Monkey King said looking down at the ground his tail drooping down

MK looked at his mentor in shock "you...really loved him?" MK said walking up to the king "I would give up my title as King just to see him again" Monkey King said, MK thinks about this and has a crazy idea "well, what if you can see him, today!" MK said smiling, Monkey King turns to the teen in confusion "kid, what do you-!" Monkey King was cut off as he and MK fell through a shadow portal under them and lands in front of a gate "kid, where are we?" Monkey King said confused at how they got here "trust me" MK said smiling as he opened the gates ushering the copper simian to follow him. In the courtyard, Macaque was picking some Mangoes when he heard the gate open "you're here early for training cub, though I can make breakfast for tw-" Macaque paused as he turns around and saw Monkey King staring at him with wide eyes, Macaques eyes widened as let out a gasp dropping the basket in the ground spilling Mangoes and plums ".....Mangoes?" Monkey King whispered in shock as he stares at his long lost husband
