Chapter 78

Everyone waited outside the airship anxiously as Sandy aids MK, Pigsy was hugging a distressed Tang, Mei cuddling with Mo, Macaque pacing back and forth his tail swishing behind him, and Monkey King sitting far back from the group sitting on the floor his arms crossed his tail tapping on the floor in worry, finally after what felt like hours of waiting Sandy came out and everyone shot up to their feet praying that the water spirit had good news "he's gonna be okay, he lost a bit of blood but he's alright" Sandy said smiling everyone sighed in relief "can we see him?" Tang asked

Sandy nodded and everyone quickly went inside to see the teen, but Macaque noticed that Monkey King wasn't coming he just stood by the railing looking out in the distance, the tanned simian walks up to his husband "aren't you going to see our cub as well?" Macaque asked leaning on the railing next to his husband "I'm probably the last person the kid wants to see right now" Monkey King said looking out in the distance, Macaque sighs and opened his mouth to say something but the copper simian cut him off "before you rant and yell at me let me do it for you...yes what I did was stupid, irresponsible, and I should've at least told you about what was happening instead of lying to you or our son, and because of that I've broken your trust and I understand if you don't want to see me again or be anywhere near our son" Monkey King said burying his face in his arms

"Are you finish?" Macaque asked, Monkey King nodded his face still in his arms "well, at first that's what I wanted to say to you but after thinking over it and hearing you say it yourself I....can't find myself getting mad at you" Macaque said making the copper simian look up at him in surprise "I mean don't get me wrong I'm still mad at you, but only a little bit but....I'm not mad enough that I don't want to see you or our cub again" Macaque said looking at his ring gently tracing the sun carving "I'm going to check on our cub" Macaque said getting up to leave, Monkey King watch wanting to say something but couldn't find the words until he remembered something from long ago

"I'll swim and sail on savage seas"

Macaque came to a halt when he heard the familiar song his husband was singing

"With ne'er a fear of drowning,

and gladly ride the waves of light,

if you would marry me"

Monkey King looked at Macaque who's back was still turn

"No scorching sun, no freezing cold

will stop me on my journey,

If you would promise me your heart,

And love me for eternity"

Monkey King looks down and sighs his tail drooping down until

"My dearest one, my darling dear, your mighty words astounds me"

Monkey King eyes shot up when he hears Macaque singing the next verse of their song

"But I've no need of mighty deeds when I feel your arms around me"

"But I would bring you rings of gold

I'd even sing you poetry ("oh would you?")

And I would keep you from all harm

If you would stay besides me"

Macaque held in a chuckle as he walks closer to Monkey King

"I have no use for rings of gold

I care not for your poetry

I only want your hand to hold

I only want you near me"

"How is it that you keep forgiving me so easily after all of this?" Monkey King asked looking down at the ground "because you make it real hard for me to stay mad at you, that's why I love you" Macaque said smiling as he gently pressed his forehead "does this mean you forgive me?" Monkey King asked, Macaque chuckled lightly "of course I do you peach for brains" Macaque said smiling, Monkey King smiled and lifted Macaque in the air smiling laughing lightly as he began to spin around

"To love, to kiss, to sweetly hold for the dancing and the dreaming

Through all the sorrows and delight, so keep your love inside me

I'll swim and sail on savage seas, with ne'er a fear of drowning

"Okay, okay, that's enough" Macaque said as his husband put him back down "now come on, our cub is waiting for us" Macaque said and leads the copper simian inside the airship. They walked into the room where MK was laying in the bed the covers over his chest, the teen groans and slowly opened his eyes and saw his parents "ma, Monkey King?" MK asked a little groggy from the painkillers Sandy gave him "hey cub, how are you doing?" Macaque asked gently petting MK's head "sore" MK said closing his eyes for a second "yeah I bet, I know the feeling of getting stitches" Monkey King said lightly chuckling, MK groans as he tries to stay awake "sleep cub, you need it, we'll be right here when you wake up" Macaque said sitting down next to his son along with Monkey King and MK fell back to sleep with his parents by his bedside
