"Uuuugggggghh, I'm dying" MK groans as he lays on the ground sweat running down his face and his new jacket tied around his waist being careful with his wound along with Mei in a puddle of sweat while Macaque sat cross-legged his shirt off was fanning himself with a paper fan he fashioned for himself as he tries to cool off from the heat as he looks over at his husband who was glowing as he meditates "are you sure we're going in the right direction?" Sandy asked as he drives through the hot desert sand "not a clue," Tang groaned pushing his glasses up, the scholar frustratedly trying to decipher the ancient map, but to no avail "all Monkey King said to do was go West so--" but then Mei cut him off "how did anyone ever get anywhere using these?!" Mei shrieked, as she yanked the map out of Tang's grip, the male trying to prevent the dragon girl from tearing the map apart "yo, blue thing, wanna crank up that AC brother?" Macaque turns to see Monkey King floating in a meditation pose, glowing gold as he's only inches over the pillow he was sitting on as some sweat was on his forehead

"Uh, hey, little help up front Monkey King?" Mei asked, Monkey King instead let his head fall back and begin to snore with a bubble coming out of his nose 'I've married an idiot' Macaque thought as the dragon girl grew mad "hey! I know you can hear me!" Mei said making Monkey King's head was brought back up again "no, I can't" Monkey King said making Mei growl in anger and was about to pounce on the copper simian until Macaque wrapped her tail around her waist and placed her down

"Give it here Mei," Macaque hummed, holding a paw out for the map, the girl handing it over and looking over the shadow demon's shoulder, as he studied the map "my husband is useless right now, so I'll decipher the map for you" Macaque said "Thank you," Tang said as he heaved a sigh of relief "Please tell me we're going the right way" Tang asked as the tanned simian look over at the map "we are, in fact, we'll be out of the desert soon at this rate" Macaque said handing the scholar back the map "really?!" The others shouted in relief, eyes sparkling happily, when Macaque nodded in conformation "just twenty more miles" The black furred demon responded

"At least he's more helpful than a certain someone!" Pigsy growled, sending the 'meditating,' Monkey King a nasty look "come on you guys, Monkey King needs to recharge after his fight with Nezha, he's in no state to waste his time on mere mortals, especially now that I don't have my powers" MK said slowly sitting up "whoa, he told you that?" Pigsy said in surprise as his son lays back on the ground "we have a very honest relationship, Dadsy, besides, that kind of Mystic Monkey meditation requires complete focus apparently" MK said as Monkey King scratches his underside of his thigh before resuming his meditation pose "right" Macaque said deadpanning at his husband's foolishness

"Come on gang, don't be glum, roll down that window, a little fresh air never hurt no--" but Sandy was cut off as a burst of fire hits him and Mo when he rolled down the window "Oh, that's so much worse!!" Sandy cried out immediately rolling up the window as Mo patted the fire on his hair out "MK, you know there is more to you than just your powers, right?" Pigsy asked, MK sits back up and sighs "I know....I just feel so useless, and what Mr. Dragon of the East said was right it is my fault that I gave the Lady Bone Demon my powers and practically handed her the staff" MK said pulling his knees close to him. Everyone was shocked by what they heard that came out from the teens mouth, but before anyone could say anything there was the sound of the engine sputtering before cutting out as the van went to a complete stop "what the?" Pigsy said, everyone looked over to see the image appeared on the dash screen as it showed the temperature rate is too hot that caused the van to lose the engines, they soon got out the van as Sandy checks the engines, MK carries the meditating copper simian and sets him down on the base of the tree as Macaque quickly made a shadow umbrella

"How bad is it?" Pigsy asked as the water spirit fans the smoke and steam coming off from the engines "really bad, engines completely cooked, the T.E.A. gonna need a new one" Sandy said wiping the sweat off his brow "well where are we going to find an engine in the middle of the desert!?!" Pigsy said, Tang sighs as he unbuttoned the top part of his robe and tied it around his waist along with his scarf, as he was putting his hair up into a bun he noticed something in the distance 'huh?' He thought as he quickly cleaned his glasses making sure that he was seeing correctly and gasped loudly "IT'S H2OMG YOU GUYS!! Is that....?" Tang said pointing at the direction, they all followed the scholars gaze and saw an oasis "Water!!" Everyone but Macaque shouted and they all ran towards the oasis with Macaque following behind as he carried the meditating copper simian with his tail

When the tanned simian reached the oasis everyone was drinking the cool water of the oasis "that feels so much better" Mei said splashing water on her face while MK took a big gulp of water in his hand, Macaque was about take a drink when something flashed over his eyes, he looks around and spotted something from behind the leaves and bushes, he stands up and walks towards the bushes and pushes them away and his eyes widened "everyone, come look at this!" Macaque called out and everyone went to the tanned simian and they gasped at what they saw, there were about dozens of cars and vans "where did they all come from?" Tang asked looking at the abandoned vehicles, Macaque looks at the vehicles and comes up with an idea "Sandy, you think you can make a new engine out from these vehicles?" Macaque asked, Sandy hums as he lifted up the hood of a car seeing inspecting the engine inside it "I think I can, it'll take me an hour or two, but I'll get the van up in running in no time by then" Sandy said with a smile as he began taking out some engine parts from the car

"Alright you do that and the rest of us can help gather more parts for Sandy" Macaque said and everyone began to take out parts from the engines and place them in a pile "now let's see if I can remember how to put in engine back together" Sandy said and began building the engine under the shade of a tree. As the water spirit was busy with the engine Macaque turned to the direction of where his cub was, he heard sobbing and found his son under some palm leaves and as he went closer he heard sobbing coming from the teen 'oh' Macaque thought in worry as he pushed the palm leaf away "cub, is everything alright?" Macaque asked sitting now next to the teen. MK quickly wipe his eyes and turns to the tanned simian "y-yeah Ma, everything's just peachy" MK said with a smile, Macaque wasn't convinced "cub" Macaque said soft yet sternly, MK's smile fell with a sigh knowing that it was useless to fool his ma "does it have to do with what Ao Guang said?" Macaque asked, MK pulled his legs close to him "yeah.....I mean....he's right you know, Lady Bone Demon is gonna destroy the world because of me" MK said, Macaque gasped at what he heard "Cub" Macaque said but MK cut him off

"It's true, I rushed in to fight her, used my powers at her, and she took them all away without even blinking! I gave her all my powers, I practically handed her the staff, the world will be destroyed, and it's all my fault! Maybe...maybe she's right...maybe Monkey King did picked the wrong successor, maybe I would have been better off just being a delivery boy, instead of playing hero" MK said tears filling his eyes "Qi Xiaotian that is enough!" Macaque said gripping his son's shoulders making his cub face him "I want you to listen to me and I want you to listen to me good, I know that Monkey King can make a lot of mistakes and I mean a lot, but I know DAMN well that he didn't make the mistake of choosing you as his successor, he loves you just as much as I love you, what happened that day wasn't your fault so don't you DARE say that it was, if it's anyone's fault it's the bone witch for hurting such a sweet, kind, and brave kid like you" Macaque said wiping his cubs tears, MK stared at his ma before throwing himself into tanned simian hugging him tightly while sobbing

"Shhh, shhh, it's alright, it's alright, everything's gonna be alright now" Macaque said gently patting his cubs back while Monkey King still meditating gently wrapped his tail around his son's waist as a form of a hug
