Many days have passed and you can gladly say that today was the day you and Rimuru were finally leaving. It was honestly devastating leaving the kids, as they have brought many memories to both you and Rimuru. Even Ranga, who enjoyed being patted on the head by the childrens.
"Mister, are you actually leaving?"
"We can't hold Mr. Rimuru back, Chloe." Ryota tried to reason with the young girl.
"Exactly. The sooner he goes,
the better." Alice couldn't help, but frown at the thought her teacher going. She was just as sad as Chloe was."Uh.. Fine." You heard your husband quietly uttered. You were confused as to why he muttered that, when you watched as he took the mask he had been wearing non-stop and placed it on the top of Chloe's head. "Cheer up. I'll give you this."
"Not fair! I wanted it too!" Alice threw herself on the black head girl as she tried to get ahold of the mask.
"Mr. Rimuru gave this to me." Chloe giggled, rather happy to receive such a gift from her teacher.
"Alright, you two."
"It's just a mask." Kenya spoke in annoyance as he had his arms crossed behind his head.
"Mr. Rimuru gave us new clothes too." Gale spoke as well, justifying the action of your husband giving the mask to Chloe.
"It suits you nice, Alice." Ryota smiled as he stared at the blonde girl.
"All of you guys look amazing." You joined in with a small giggle, making the kids softly blush at your compliment.
"Ms. Y/N, I would like to give this to you. I almost forgot." Gale walked over to you with a nervous smile. He digged his hand into his pocket before showing it to your face. "A necklace. Something you can remember us by." He placed the object in your ready outstretched hand. "I'd like to say thank you too. For everything." You stared at the object in your hand in shock. Small tears started to prickle at the corner of your eyes.
"You're so sweet, Gale." You went in to hug the boy. "Thanks to you too, Gale." You were very grateful.
Receiving gifts wasn't a new thing to you. It was something the villagers from your kingdom would always do once in a while whenever they've got the chance, but it felt oddly.. Nice to receive a gift from Gale, a person you barely helped. Rimuru deserved it more than you did, but Gale chose to give it to you instead. You were surely to remember this act of kindness.
"Uhh. It's a gift from all of us. We didn't had enough money to get anything big, so.." Kenya started.
"The necklace was just something we was able to afford. We hope you like it." Ryota continued.
"Of course." You motioned for the kids to come to you and they did, receiving
a big hug from you in return. "Thank you all." You released the kids from the hug."Study hard you guys. It might be hard to say goodbye, but it doesn't mean we're apart." Rimuru smiled. "You all should come by during the holidays." The kids simply nodded their heads at the request before giving their teacher when last hug.
"See you all later."
