Blurry Bond Between Us

Chapter X: Proposal

The next day I started a fresh day and reached my college. I was somehow able to eradicate all those traumas from my mind. On reaching college Nasim saw me and asked,

"Where have you been 2-3 days! You didn't even answer my calls. Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, man kinda long story. I will tell you in the canteen."

I did my 2 classes and on break, we reached the canteen. I told the story of mine and Suhani's. Listening to that Nasim burst into laughter

"Fuck man! You have been traumatized by a lesbo couple."

Seeing me not enjoying his sneer laugh! Nasim for a bit paused and said

"Hey Adil, I know you are a strong guy and you and Suhani were never in a love relationship so calm down. I think that you should focus on the relationship you had with Suhani." Nasim said

"I didn't understand. What do you mean by it?" I asked

"Buddy! You and Suhani were good friends right? and I think she will always be like that or maybe you guys will become more good friends after all these incidents. You should accept her as a friend. It may sound cringy but in today's world finding a good friend is tougher than finding a girlfriend." Nasim replied.

Nasim's words quite impressed me so I asked him - should I go to their Annual day to which he replied that I should surely visit. We then had our snacks and got back to our classes.

On Saturday I finally decided to visit their annual day! In the evening I took my car and reached their college. Tiya was already waiting for me in the premise. Seeing me she exclaimed and said, "so you are finally here."

"Yeah I didn't have any options," I said.

She also told me that Suhani was busy in the Green room so I could meet her only after her performance. I agreed with her and said that I will also leave after Suhani's performance coz I have a few works left. We did roam her college premise for a few minutes and during that time Tiya showed me her hand with a ring.

"Wow! Nice ring" I appreciated

"Suhani proposed to me yesterday for marriage. It took me hours thinking as I had to think about the future consequence but I agreed at the end." Tiya said

"Well, Do you think you can convince your family ?" I asked

"Most probably, No! But I will think about that in future. Let's go inside the auditorium the programmes had been started." She said

We both entered the auditorium and started to enjoy different Dances and dramas. There was a lot of crowd in the auditorium and performers were also doing their best act. The place was too energetic and I was enjoying every bit of it. After few performances Suhani showed up in stage and she started her Dance. This time she chosed to dance in a contemporary style which she performed with her utmost perfection. The crowd went crazy seeing her moves. I could only observe her eyes which were staring at me. I wanted to make her feel confident so I was trying to give the best smile I could.

When her dance completed I told Tiya that I had to leave now. She took me out of the auditorium and said

"Hey! Don't you wanna meet Suhani. She will be so upset if you leave without meeting her."

"She must be busy right now. I will meet her later on." I replied

"Wait lemme ask." Tiya said that and called Suhani on her phone."

After having a convo with Suhani. She said that Suhani is changing her dance outfit in the green room and she will be right here.

I wanted to avoid meeting Suhani coz I was feeling so awkward meeting her but now I had no options left. I told Tiya that I am out in my car tell Suhani to meet me there.

After a few minutes, Suhani showed up

"Man! Are you still pissed?" she asked

"No! I am good. Your dance was good I enjoyed it" I said

"Oh! Thank you. Wanna go for a ride? I have improved my driving skills." She said

"Oh really! But where? Won't you attend your annual day?" I asked.

"It's boring now! Can I get the driving seat?" she said

I exchanged my seat and gave her the driving seat. She Jumped on the driving seat and said " lets remake some old memories."

I was quite frightened and said " don't take any human inside the car wheels this time?"

She laughed and said "No! I won't"

It was late evening and the atmosphere was cloudy so that drive kinda made my heart thrilled. We returned to her college after an hour of drive. Before exiting the car Suhani said

"Adil! Yesterday I proposed to Tiya for marriage"

"Yeah! Tiya already told me. Congratulations girl I will be pleased to see you guys as a couple." I said

"Man I am kinda confused. I told my dad I was queer during high school and he accept me as that because he is a doctor and he knows what sexuality or gender expression is. But that's not with Tiya's family. They are so conservative and I don't know how I will be able to make them understand about our relationship." She said melancholy

Seeing her sad I replied, "Suhani this year is the last year for both of your Graduation. Complete your education gracefully and god will certainly find a solution for it. Believe in your love."

She hugged me and said, "happy to see you as the old Adil." After that, she went back to her college premise.
