The day had passed by till then quite terrible

Almost got fired, the experience was horrible

Wasn't my mistake yet blamed for it anyway

Felt as if life was becoming worse everyday

The alley I used reach home had no streetlights

Dim, dangerous, often a location for street fights

Truly seemed as if it was reflecting my emotions

Inner battles had taken away most of my passion

But that day I saw a few electricians in it, working

They brought some bulbs, were busy installing

I asked one of them when they crossed my sight

"Since when did this gloomy alleyway get light?"

"Ma'am, The mayor decided to increase security

Putting streetlights seem easier than criminal calamity

Now this alley won't be so risky for everyone or dark"

It was as if that moment something in me had a spark

The bulb's brightness was unexpectedly infectious

My path also began to slowly glow, goodness gracious

The next day, ended up getting a far better respecting job

My light keeps shining brighter, got no reason to sob
