When we became closer, should have seen
The red lights glowing round you clean
The toxicity you mask behind your smile
To discover that side, it took me a while
I depended, maybe too much on you
I didn't know what I was getting into
If only I knew your cunning true face
Wouldn't have visited such a dark place
A strong struggle to get out of your grasp
Was stuck in your hold in a tight clasp
Without you around I felt out of control
You had taken over my heart and soul
Pressure only makes a diamond stronger
Your behavior doesn't affect me any longer
Only makes me regret how I misjudged you
And lost a part of myself in the process too
