When I lived in a town some years ago

Used sneak at nights, stargaze everyday

Full of twinkling angels, saw nights glow

I can't see it happen at my place today

Tired of working wanted a short break

Was night time but needed to be awake

Got a quick thought, lets go out stargaze

Watch them, reignite a childhood craze

But the day I was out, the night was dark

No visible sign of the bright lovely spark

Moon was present but stars were missing

Felt it, my poor astrophile heart cracking

City, the place most of us people live

To many, food and shelter they give

Yet this location lacks stars in the sky

Sitting by a window, I wondered why

Science resolved my dragging doubt

Why at a city night, stars were not out

Pollution, smoke, haze hid the stars

Cause by city's the factories and cars

Isn't it ironic that stars left the big city

Where development is considered key?

The city, carried the hopes of millions

Yet stars stay hidden at night in billions

Even now, can see that shine at villages

There sky full of stars aren't rare images

Should move back to my town when done

Travel to the days when night sky was fun
