Extreme pain to see someone when

They have a disease, which is lethal

Feelings can't be described by a pen

Watching it happen by eyes is painful

Slowly depleting, becoming lethargic

The body looses fight against invader

Effects are physical, also psychological

Hope, strength turns fader and fader

Were so healthy and active before

But reduced to a floating mess now

Can't even protect themself anymore

Just trying to survive it all somehow

Slowly tortured out of all liveliness

Eyes void of their everlasting shine

As they approach a future of darkness

While trying to convince they are fine

Eventually give up the tough battle

Too tired to go on the path everyday

Their enemy has proved to be fatal

Couldn't win against them in any way

Not just a pet but a part of family

The goldfish lived for an year and half

Absence can never be replaced fully

Writing for them, not on their behalf
