Hidden Desires

Stood in front of the mirror in her room

She couldn't recognize herself anymore

Felt that something was terribly missing

Maybe the smile that lit her face before

When was the last time she felt happy?

When was the last day that she ate well?

When was the last second she cried out?

She kept quiet despite having lot to tell

Terrible whispers within held her hostage

Emotion of numbness slowly taking over

She was loosing all trust and confidence

No one loves you, you'll be alone forever

Built high walls, fortresses around herself

To save her heart from further heartbreak

She drowned herself in her everyday work

Better talking to the people who were fake

But deep down, she actually wanted one

To break her walls with their genuine care

Secretly wished that someone would try

But in this cruel world, nice ones are rare
